Real Madrid vs Las Palmas Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Real Madrid come on the back of more disappointments in the 2017-18 season after losing 2-1 against newly promoted Girona during the weekend. Isco scored from close range to give Madrid a lead after just 12 minutes, but Girona stunned the reigning European champions with two quick goals in the second half – through Christian Stuani and Portu. In the midweek game, Madrid lost 3-1 against Spurs in the Champions League. Las Palmas lost for a sixth consecutive game as Deportivo La Coruna claimed a 3-1 win at the Gran Canaria. Despite taking the lead through Loic Remy, Las Palmas conceded through goals from Celso Borges (2) and Lucas Perez (penalty) to lose the match.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Madrid were averaging 2.78 goals per game last season but this has now dropped down to 1.9 goals per game this season. This statistic makes for an even worse reading when it comes to the average return of just 1.6 goals per home game this season. However, the team are coming up against a Las Palmas defence that has conceded the most number of goals (25) this season. I see great value in backing Madrid to score under 3.5 goals.

Las Palmas have failed to score in four out of the five away games this season. They come into this match after having scored in both of the recent visits to the Santiago Bernabeu. Real Madrid have managed only two clean sheets in the last five home matches. I would go with both teams to score.

Real Madrid to score under 3.5 goals – 1/1

Both teams to score – 4/5

Real Madrid scored over 1.5 goals in 9 out of their last 10 games played

Real Madrid scored over 2.5 goals in 5 out of their last 9 games played against Las Palmas

Las Palmas saw over 1.5 goals in 8 out of their last 9 games played against Real Madrid

Real Madrid Preview

Real Madrid do not appear to be over the struggles as the club have once again slipped back into the dark days from the early part of the campaign. Back then, the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo was cited as a reason for the struggles. Manager Zinedine Zidane is at a loss to explain the club’s poor form, which has seen them only get wins over strugglers Eibar and second division outfit Fuenlabrada in the last five matches. Madrid have conceded nine goals and have been able to score just 19 so far this season.

Real Madrid Team News

Manager Zinedine Zidane will be without Rafael Varane (muscle), Keylor Navas (groin), Mateo Kovacic (groin), and Luca Zidane (shoulder) due to injury.

Las Palmas Preview

Las Palmas appeared to be heading down into the second division after having had a poor start to the season with eight defeats in the 10 matches so far. Even though the club have been able to get wins under their belt this season, they have been unable to sustain the same for longer periods. Las Palmas have struggled in front of goal after scoring just eight in these 10 matches, while they have conceded a whopping 25 already. As a result, Las Palmas are the worst defence in the La Liga so far this season. Loic Remy is the top scorer at the club with four league goals.

Las Palmas Team News

Jonathan Viera (hamstring), Alen Halilovic (ankle), and Oussama Tannane (groin) are the players unavailable for Las Palmas.
