Real Betis vs Leganes Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Real Betis were able to secure a thrilling 5-3 victory over Sevilla to begin 2018 in outstanding fashion. Goals from Fabian Ruiz, Zouhair Feddal, Riza Durmisi, Sergio Leon, and Christian Tello were able to provide Real Betis with enough goals to negate the goals from Wissam Ben Yedder, Simon Kjaer, and Clement Lenglet. Leganes picked up a second consecutive home win, as they beat Real Sociedad 1-0 in the league. Gabriel scored from a set-piece situation with 15 minutes of normal time left. Leganes also beat Villarreal over two legs in the Copa del Rey to reach the quarter-finals.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Leganes have surprisingly been able to dominate games against Real Betis in recent meetings, as they have been able to pick up three wins in the last four meetings. Leganes, though, have been quite poor on the road with just a point in the last five. Real Betis will be immensely boosted by the victory over Sevilla, while the club also did not have any Copa del Rey exertions in the midweek. I would choose a victory for Real Betis.

The Leganes team has been unable to score in the last four away matches. Despite Real Betis conceding at almost two goals per game on an average this season, this match has the potential to be a low scoring and a tight affair. I would back under 2.5 goals in this game.

Real Betis Preview

Real Betis have had a brilliant start to the New Year, but it will be a tough ask to build on the win over Sevilla. Real Betis have had several thrashings earlier in the campaign, but this marks the first time that they have been able to score five or more goals in a La Liga match this season. Real Betis will be relatively pleased that they are still remaining in with a shout to reach the Europa League qualification places. Villarreal maybe four places ahead in the table, but Real Betis are only four points behind. Antonio Sanabria’s absence continues to cause worries for Real Betis, as he remains the top scorer with seven league goals.

Real Betis Team News

Zouhair Feddal and Aissa Mandi are the players unavailable due to suspension, while Antonio Sanabria (meniscus), Joel Campbell (knee), and Antonio Barragan (calf) are the players unavailable due to injuries.

Leganes Preview

Leganes have been able to pick up some solid results – especially at home – to remain in contention for the top-10 finish. It is a huge testament to Asier Garitano that the club has stayed outside the top 10 places only on three matchdays this season. After having started out as one of the favourites for relegation, Leganes have never been troubled with the same so far. Leganes’ tally of 13 league goals this season is not just poor among the top-10, but it is the joint worst – alongside the likes of Malaga and Deportivo Alaves. Gabriel Pires is the club’s top scorer with nine league goals.

Leganes Team News

Serantes (shoulder), Darko Brasanac (muscle), and Alexander Szymanowski (discomfort) are unavailable due to injuries.
