Rangers vs Hibernian Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Rangers were involved in the Scottish FA Cup in the midweek action, and the team secured a 3-0 victory over Fraserburgh. During the weekend, the team beat Ross County 2-1 at the Global Energy Stadium. Goals from Candeias and Jason Cummings were able to hand Rangers three points, despite a late penalty from David Ngog. Hibernian picked up a second league win in three after beating Motherwell 2-1 at the Easter Road stadium. Florian Kamberi scored on his debut in the 28th minute, while Brandon Barker doubled their advantage just after half-time. Even though Curtis Main helped pull one back for Motherwell, Hibernian held on for a victory.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Rangers were able to win the reverse fixture at the Easter Road stadium. The club’s home form has been close to excellent with four wins in six, but Hibernian have been able to win in the last two visits to the Ibrox stadium. It will be difficult for Lennon’s team to replicate those performances, as Hibernian’s away form has been rather mediocre of late. I would choose a win for Rangers.

Alfredo Morelos has not scored since his goals against Aberdeen towards the end of January. However, he has an excellent record against Hibernian after coming up with goals in his last two games against this club. I would take Alfredo Morelos to score anytime in the game.

Rangers win – 10/11

Alfredo Morelos to score anytime – 11/10

Rangers Preview

Rangers prepare for a high profile match hoping to reclaim the second spot from the hands of Aberdeen, who were able to capitalise on Rangers not playing in the midweek action. Rangers interim manager Graeme Murty continues to do well and put himself in a position for the job. Greg Docherty, Jamie Murphy, and Jason Cummings are some of the high profile signings made by the club in this January transfer window. The club’s concentration may be on scoring more goals after coming up with only eight goals in the last six games. Alfredo Morelos is the club’s top scorer with 11 league goals.

Rangers Team News

Kenny Miller (Achilles tendon), Jordan Rossiter (calf), Graham Dorrans (ankle), Ryan Jack (knee), Bruno Alves (knee), and Ross McCrorie (knee) are the players unavailable for Rangers.

Hibernian Preview

Hibernian will be delighted to have secured the crucial victory over Motherwell, as there was a danger of Hibernian dropping out of the race for the top three positions with yet another poor result. Neil Lennon’s team have already dropped plenty of points in the last few weeks. A major positive for manager Lennon will be January signing Kamberi scoring on his debut for the club. Anthony Stokes has been the club’s top scorer, but his departure was always going to cause problems. Lennon will be hoping that Kamberi builds on this goal and becomes a success at Easter Road stadium.

Hibernian Team News

Steven Whittaker (knee), David Gray (Achilles tendon), Ross Laidlaw (shoulder), and Cammy Bell (knee) are the players unavailable for Neil Lennon.
