Queens Park Rangers vs Hull City Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Saturday afternoon (15:00) Championship game from Loftus Road features two sides looking to bounce back from their first defeat in midweek. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats. QPR lost 2-0 on Tuesday night at Carrow Road going down to two second-half strikes. The London side had more of the ball and created as many chances but lacked the cutting edge of their hosts. Hull also went down in midweek as they lost 3-2 in a five-goal thriller with a Wolves side who are looking strong this season. The Tigers goalscorers were David Meyler who scored a late penalty and Michael Dawson. The Yorkshire side have a good record in meetings between the pair as they are unbeaten in their last seven meetings. Six of the last eight battles between the duo have gone under 2.5 goals.

Betting Tips and Predictions

I am not sure QPR are the kind of side you want to be backing at short odds while Hull with doubts over Hernandez are a worry also so I would recommend not getting involved in the match markets. 70% of the goals the Tigers have scored this season have come in the second-half so it might be worth an interest on that being the highest scoring half and try a little interest on a late goal coming after 70:59.

Queens Park Rangers Preview

It has been a mixed start for QPR who have registered one victory, one draw and one defeat from their opening three league games. Ian Holloway seems to have done good work over the summer creating a tough to break down well-drilled organization. At home, they have won each of their last three competitive games and seven of the last nine. They have also kept a clean sheet in each of these last three scoring a total of five without reply. An interesting feature to note about the way QPR play is that just 17% of their attacks come through the middle. Luke Freeman has yet to score for the London side this season but tops their shots on target average with 2.3 per game.

Queens Park Rangers Team News

Grant Hall (tendon) and Pawel Wszolek (unknown) are doubts while Idrissa Syla (ankle), Jordan Cousins (hamstring) and Yeni N’Gbakoto (head) are all ruled out.

Hull City Preview

The Tigers have had a satisfactory start to the season despite the gloom and doom talk of the summer. They had won one game against Burton drawn with Hull and a defeat against Wolves. On the road, Hull have not won a competitive game since October 2016 and in the league since August 2016. They have found the back of the net five times in the last 12 matches in their away fixtures. Along with Ipswich the Yorkshire side are the top scorers in the division this season with seven goals. Abel Hernandez has three goals for the season and is averaging an impressive 5.3 shots per game.

Hull City Team News

Kevin Stewart (ankle) and Ryan Mason (skull fracture) are day-to-day while Abel Hernandez (unknown) and Moses Odubajo (broken knee cap) are doubts. David Marshal (ankle), Goebel Evandro (hamstring) and Will Keane (cruciate) are long-term absentees.
