Queens Park Rangers vs Bolton Wanderers Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Saturday afternoon (15:00) Championship fixture features two sides in need of points at the bottom of the table. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

QPR will be looking to bounce back after going down 2-1 away to leaders Wolves last time out. The Rs though put in a strong performance and although only they only netted once through Conor Washington they can take comfort from that showing. Bolton will aim to bounce back from their midweek loss on the road to Cardiff. Wanderers went down 2-0 but they can have few complaints about the result in a game that the Bluebirds dominated. The reverse fixture came at the end of October in a game that ended in a 1-1 draw at the Macron Stadium. Darren Pratley put the home side ahead but Idrissa Sylla netted 12 minutes from time to claim a point.

Betting Tips and Predictions

The respective home and away form of both these sides suggest that taking QPR to win the game is the sensible approach. That being said I just cannot side with the hosts at the prices and as such will be taking the visitors and the draw in the double chance market given the difference in quality in these sides is not a large amount. Derik Osede has never scored for Bolton but he did play as part of a midfield three in midweek and as such his price do not reflect his on-field position. In a game with no clear goalscorer he looks worth an each-way interest.

Queens Park Rangers Preview

Three defeats in their last four means that the Hoops cannot consider themselves safe from relegation. They sit in 16th place which is just eight points above the bottom three with 15 games remaining for most sides. At Loftus Road, they have lost just four times this season with all four of these defeats coming to teams in the top half. Five of their last seven in front of their own fans have seen both teams score though the last two have not. Around 64% of the league goals that QPR have scored this season have come in the first 45 minutes. Four of the five clean sheets they have kept this campaign have come at their own ground.

Queens Park Rangers Team News

Idrissa Sylla, Darnell Furlong (both calf), Paul Smyth (thigh) and Massimo Luongo (knee) are doubts while Jamie Mackie (back surgery) and David Wheeler (ankle) are long-term absentees. Ryan Manning will miss the game through suspension.

Bolton Wanderers Preview

It has been a mixed set of results of late for the Trotters with one win, one defeats and two draws from their last four. They sit in 19th place on thirty points which is just two above the relegation places. Away from the Macron Stadium, they have won just once this season but have picked up road points at Millwall, Sunderland and Birmingham this season. A lack of road goals is their biggest issue with just nine netted. None of the last ten Bolton league fixtures have gone over 2.5 goals and have produced a total of just 16 goals. In none of their last five have the Lancashire outfit netted in the first 45 minutes.

Bolton Wanderers Team News

Craig Noone (knee), Stephen Darby (head) and Darren Pratley (broken leg) are doubts.
