Preston North End vs Brentford Match Prediction

By Gary Gillles

This Saturday afternoon (15:00) fixture features two sides in opposite halves of the Championship table. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats. Preston will be looking to bounce back after going down 3-2 at Molineux last time out to top-of-the table Wolves. North-End did produce a strong fight back after being three goals down after 63 minutes thanks to a goal from Jordan Hugill and a Conor Coady own-goal but could not find a third that would help them claim a point. Brentford also found themselves two goals down but they could claim a point in a 3-3 draw with Sunderland. Nico Yennaris, Florian Jozefzoon and Neal Maupay were the players who netted for the Bees. The last meeting between the pair at Deepdale ended in a 4-2 victory for the Lancashire side while the London outfit won their home fixture 5-0. In fact, each of their last four battles have gone over 2.5 goals.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Given that these two teams have drawn a combined 13 from the 26 they have played so far then I think taking this game to end all-square looks to be the most sensible approach. Both teams to score has happened in each of the last four for Preston and three of the last four Brentford so sticking with the draw theme why not have a look at the winning margin market and take a small interest on the game to end in a score draw

Preston North End Preview

Defeat last time out put to an end a ten-game unbeaten run for the Lillywhites who have drawn five of these. Only their opponents here (Brentford) have drawn more than the six times they have this season. At Deepdale, they are unbeaten with three victories and three draws from their six played so far. North-End are one of five sides who have conceded a league low of three goals in their home matches. Preston are the joint second-best ranked defence in the division having shipped just 11 goals while the attack has weighed in with 17. Around 34% of their goals come in the first-half and none of them in the opening 15 minutes.

Preston North End Team News

Alan Browne will miss the game through suspension while Sean Maguire (hamstring) and Gregory Cunningham (knee) are doubts.

Brentford Preview

It is six league games unbeaten now for the Bees who have drawn four of these. They currently sit in 18th place in the table though three of their next four are against sides in the top eight. Away from Griffin Park, it has been a struggle with one victory, two draws and three defeats. After failing to find the back of the net in their first three on the road they have since netted in each of their last three and a total of six from these ties. The 18 goals they have shipped this season has them in the bottom eight for defensive records while they have netted 17 themselves. Around 65% of the goals they have netted have come in the second-half with 35% in the last 15 minutes.
