Preston North End vs Aston Villa Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Saturday afternoon (15:00) fixture features the side in ninth place on the road to the team in 17th. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Preston have suffered back-to-back defeats with the latest coming in a 2-1 home loss to Hull at Deepdale. Alan Browne got their goal and North-End can consider themselves a little unlucky as they game should have finished all-square.

Aston Villa put a three-game winless run behind them and got back to winning ways with a 1-0 victory at Aston Villa. Conor Hourihane got the only goal of the game as the Midlanders somehow escaped Wales with all three points.

The reverse fixture came on October 2nd at Villa Park and was a six-goal thriller which ended 3-3. Jonathan Kodjia, Tammy Abraham and Yanic Bolaise netted for Villa and Lewis Moult, Paul Gallagher and Daniel Johnson for the Lilywhites.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Aston Villa look a good bet given they have won three and drawn one of their last four on the road with victories at Swansea, Middlesbrough and Derby. Preston are struggling with injuries and lost when hosting Hull on Boxing Day. The draw is a risk but at those odds I would recommend taking a chance.

To win the game the road team are likely to have to score more than one goal and given they have done this in three of their last four on their travels then I wlll take them to score two or more.
