Paris Saint Germain vs Real Madrid Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Paris Saint Germain will look to overturn a two-goal deficit when they welcome Real Madrid at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night for the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie. PSG took the lead a fortnight ago at the Santiago Bernabeu following a goal from Adrien Rabiot to succumb to a 3-1 away loss. Cristiano Ronaldo netted a brace, while Marcelo established the final score with a goal with just four minutes to go. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news, match stats and odds all in our SBAT preview. Feel free to visit our Bet of the day page to check our best daily tips.

Betting Predictions and Tips

Both sides have enjoyed a strong run of form of late and both have been scoring goals for fun in this term. The first leg clash between these two sides have seen four goals and we fancy another high-scoring affair here. PSG have the home advantage in this one, but Neymar’s absence will definitely play a massive role here.

Paris Saint Germain Preview

It seems that Paris Saint Germain managed to put their 3-1 defeat against Real Madrid behind them, as they bounced back with four consecutive wins in Ligue 1 and Coupe de France. Les Parisiens beat Troyes 0-2 away from home in Ligue 1 this weekend to increased their lead at the top of the table. PSG now have 14 more points than the 2nd-placed Monaco. Les Parisiens looked incredibly strong at both ends of the field throughout their Ligue 1 campaign, having scored 86 goals and conceding just 19 in 28 rounds. PSG are now back on home soil where they have won each of their 19 competitive fixtures this season. They are undefeated in 12 home games in the Champions League at the moment, a run that stretches back to May 2015 when they lost 1-3 at the hands of Barcelona. At home this season, Emery’s men managed an impressive 3-0 victory against Bayern Munich on matchday two before a 5-0 win over Anderlecht and a 7-1 triumph against Celtic. Their home record against Spanish opposition reads seven wins, five draws and two defeats, but they have won just one of the most recent eight of these. Edinson Cavani and Neymar have been PSG’s most dangerous players in front of goal throughout this Champions League campaign, having bagged twelve goals and five assists between them. However, the latter got injured a couple of weeks ago and is a doubt ahead of this clash.

Paris Saint Germain Team News

Marco Verratti, Javier Pastore, Hatem Ben Arfa and Kylian Mbappe are all doubts, but Neymar is still out through injury. The good news is that Marquinhos is back in training.

Real Madrid Preview

Real Madrid’s form over the past month have seen them win six and lose one of their last seven games across all competitions. During this run, they managed to beat PSG 3-1 at home in the first leg of this Champions League round of 16 tie, but suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss at Espanyol in La Liga last week. They currently lie only third in the league table with 54 points to their name after 27 rounds, already 15 points of the current leaders Barcelona. Away from home, Real Madrid were on a nine-game unbeaten streak prior to their 1-0 defeat at Espanyol in their most recent trip. Their Champions League away record over the past year have seen them win six, lose two and draw one of their last nine games. This season, Los Blancos managed to beat Borussia Dortmund and APOEL on the road, but lost 3-1 at Tottenham Hotspur. Zinedine Zidane’s men will look to book their place in the quarter-finals for the eighth successive year. Overall, Real Madrid have suffered just two defeats in their last 26 European fixtures, winning 18 and drawing six. Cristiano Ronaldo is definitely the main player to watch here as he became the first player to score in all six group fixtures, registering nine goals overall.

Real Madrid Team News

There are no fresh injury concerns for Real Madrid ahead of this game, but Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Jesus Vallejo are all back in training.
