Paris Saint Germain vs Nice Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Paris Saint Germain welcome Nice at the Parc des Princes on Friday night, with both teams looking to get back to winning ways in Ligue 1. Paris Saint Germain fought back from one-goal down twice to secure a 2-2 away draw at Marseille last weekend thanks to goals from Neymar and Edinson Cavani. On the flip side, Nice lost 1-2 at home at the hands of the newcomers Strasbourg, with their consolation goal being scored by Pierre Lees Melou just before the hour mark. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news, match stats and odds all in our SBAT preview. Feel free to visit our Bet of the day page to check our best daily tips.

Betting Predictions and Tips

Although they showed some signs of weakness recently, PSG should have enough to grab all three points here as Nice have been terrible over the past few weeks. Les Parisiens have won each of their last six home games across all competitions, scoring 22 goals and conceding just four in this term. In addition, they are undefeated in the last eight home meetings with Nice across all competitions.

Paris Saint Germain Preview

Paris Saint Germain are undefeated in 14 games throughout this 2017/18 competitive season, winning 12 in the process. Les Parisiens were on a four-game winning streak prior to their 2-2 away draw at Marseille at the weekend. PSG have been extremely lucky to secure four points in their last two league trips, as Thomas Meunier scored a stoppage-time goal to beat Dijon two weeks ago while Edinson Cavani netted a screamer in the 93rd minute to level the game against Marseille at the weekend. They still sit at the top of the Ligue 1 table, but they are now just four points clear of the second-placed Monaco. Les Parisiens have been scoring goals for fun throughout this campaign as they managed an impressive tally of 31 goals in ten rounds. Edinson Cavani and Neymar have both been in excellent shape in this early part of the season, as the pair bagged 16 goals and seven assists between them. Kylian Mbappe has also played a decisive role in PSG’s performances this season, contributing with two goals and three assists in his five league appearances. At home, Les Parisiens are currently on a six-game winning streak across all competitions, scoring at least two goals in each of these. Furthermore, PSG are undefeated in the last eight home meetings with Nice across all competitions, winning six in this term.

Paris Saint Germain Team News

Daniel Alves is a doubt, but Neymar is missing through suspension.

Nice Preview

Nice were on a six-game unbeaten streak across all competitions in September, but they have been unrecognizable since the start of October. They enter the fray on the back of a four-game losing streak across all competitions, including a 1-3 home loss against Lazio in the Europa League last week. However, Nice still sit second in the Europa League group K table with six points after three rounds, already five points clear of the third-placed Vitesse. Regarding their Ligue 1 campaign, Nice are currently on a three-game losing run, which includes a 1-2 home loss against Strasbourg last weekend. This leaves them only in 14th spot in the league table with ten points to their name after ten rounds, just one point clear of the bottom three. Keeping the ball out of their own net has been their main issue over the past few weeks as they conceded at least two goals in each of their last four competitive games. Their away form has also let them down as Nice have only won two of their last seven away games across all competitions. Furthermore, Nice are winless in their last eight visits to the Parc des Princes since a 0-1 win back in November 2009. Mario Balotelli has been the standout player for Nice so far this season with five goals under this belt, but the experienced striker got injured last time out against Strasbourg and he is a doubt ahead of this clash.

Nice Team News

Ignatius Ganago, Wylan Cyprien, Mario Balotelli, Mickael Le Bihan and Mounir Obbadi is a doubt, while Jean Michael Seri is out through a hamstring injury.
