Osasuna vs Granada Match Prediction

By Gary Gillles

Osasuna will be trying to recover from a heavy 4-1 loss against Valencia at the Mestalla. The home team took full advantage of Osasuna’s weak defence after managing to score twice in the first half through Ezequiel Garay. In the second half, Simone Zaza and Rodrigo completed the rout. Osasuna did manage a consolation in injury time through Olavide. Granada suffered a sixth straight defeat in the La Liga following a 4-0 defeat against Real Madrid. Despite playing against an under strength team, Granada were well-beaten through braces from James Rodriguez and Alvaro Morata.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Osasuna are unbeaten in the last three home games, while Granada have lost their last six matches without exception. In fact, since the last home victory against Deportivo Alaves in March, Granada have taken just one point in 11 matches. Even with Osasuna struggling with a huge list of injuries, I would back the home team to get a win largely due to their recent form.

Granada are the lowest scorers in the Spanish La Liga with just 28 goals in 36 games. They have also managed only two goals in the last five away matches. There is plenty of value available in backing Granada to score under 1.5 goals.

Osasuna Preview

A few weeks ago, Osasuna would have dreamt about making an unlikely escape after managing back-to-back wins over Deportivo Alaves and Leganes. Now, the club are already preparing for next season’s stay in the second division of Spanish football following their relegation. Yet, the prospect of moving away from the La Liga bottom will be an incentive to the team with two matches left. Osasuna are just one point behind Granada. Scoring goals has not been a problem for Osasuna, but they have conceded 88 goals in 36 league matches.

Osasuna Team News

Osasuna have a huge injury list with Fran Merida (thigh), Imanol Garcia (ankle), Javi Flano (fever), Tano Bonnin (leg), David Garcia (knee), Didier Digard (cruciate ligament), and Miguel Flano (meniscus) ruled out. Fausto (back), Kenan Kodro (concussion), Sergio Leon (ankle), and Unai Garcia (knee) are doubtful for the game. Juan Rafael Fuentes is suspended for the game.

Granada Preview

Granada have scored the fewest number of goals (28) in the 2016-17 La Liga campaign. Despite letting in 10 fewer goals than Osasuna (88), Granada find themselves unable to fight against relegation largely due to the failures of their forwards. Remaining just above the bottom of the table will be the key objective of the team with two matches left. The run of three consecutive home wins during February now appears to have taken place in the distant past. Artem Kravets is the top scorer with five league goals.

Granada Team News

Matthew Saunier (hamstring), Franck Tabanou (ankle), Artem Kravets (ankle), and Mubarak Wakaso (stomach) are the players ruled out of the game against Osasuna, while Dimitri Foulquier (muscle) is doubtful.
