Olympiacos vs Juventus Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Juventus will be aiming to book their place in the Champions League round of 16 when they travel to the Stadio Georgios Karaiskaki to take on Olympiakos Piraeus on Tuesday night. Olympiakos Piraeus lost 3-1 on the road at Sporting Lisbon last time out in the Champions League, with their consolation goal being scored by Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe. Meanwhile, Juventus only managed a nil-nil home draw against Barcelona, despite the fact they had more goalscoring opportunities than the visitors. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news, match stats and odds all in our SBAT preview. Feel free to visit our Bet of the day page to check our best daily tips.

Betting Predictions and Tips

Juventus are in dire need of a victory here in order to book their place into the next stage of the competition. I’m confident that they will grab it here, as Olympiakos have nothing left to play for and they have also struggled for fluency of late. Head-to-head, Juve have won three of their last four meetings with Olympiakos in the Champions League, conceding just two goals in the process.

Olympiacos Preview

Olympiakos Piraeus have been terrible throughout this Champions League group stage campaign, having collected just one point from their five group fixtures. They are rock bottom of the table and find themselves out of the running for any sort of qualification coming into this final fixture. Their recent home record in the Champions League have also been poor as they have only won once in their last six games, having failed to score in three of these. The only good news is that Olympiakos are currently undefeated in five home competitive fixtures, including a goalless draw against Barcelona last time out in the Champions League. The Greeks managed to score four goals in five Champions League rounds this season, but their sloppy defence has been the main reason for their struggle. Olympiakos hold one of the worst defensive records in this qualifying campaign, conceding eleven goals in five games. They have also struggled throughout their Super League campaign as they find themselves only second in the standings at the moment with just one point behind the current leaders AEK Athens. Karim Ansarifard and Konstantinos Fortounis have been Olympiakos’ most prolific players in front of goal domestically, as the pair bagged ten goals and three assists between them.

Olympiacos Team News

Diogo Figueiras is the only missing player for Olympiakos ahead of this game, as he is missing through suspension.

Juventus Preview

Meanwhile, Juventus have only lost once in their last ten competitive fixtures and head into this clash on the back of a three-game unbeaten streak. They have kept a clean sheet in each of their most recent three competitive fixtures, including their home tie against Barcelona last time out in the Champions League. The Old Lady currently lie second in the group D table and they will seal their place into the next stage of the competition with a victory here. They were always expected to qualify for the knockout stages, but they definitely weren’t expecting to still fight for their qualifying spot in the final group fixture. The worrying fact is that Juve have struggled for fluency on the road recently, having won just once in their last three competitive fixtures. However, they enter the fray on buoyant mood as they beat the previous Serie A leaders Napoli 1-0 away from home last Friday. This leaves Juve third in the standings with 37 points after 15 rounds, just two points adrift of the current leaders Inter. Juve’s recent away record in the Champions League has seen them lose just once in eight games, but it has to be said that they are winless in two games this season.

Juventus Team News

Mario Mandzukic and Stephan Lichtsteiner are both doubts, but Benedikt Howedes is still out through a thigh injury.
