Nottingham Forest vs Queens Park Rangers Match Prediction

By Gary Gillles

This Saturday afternoon fixture (15:00) could be an entertaining one between two sides in the middle third of the table. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats. Forest saw their two-game winning run come to end at the Madejski Stadium in midweek as they lost 3-1 to Reading. The expected goals data suggests they were harshly treated but all they had to show from the game was a late Ben Osborn goal. QPR continued their great week that has seen them beat two of the top three as they defeated Sheffield United 1-0 at Lotus Road. Idrissa Sylla gave them a lead in the fourth minute and that was the end of the scoring. The Rs took four points off the Tricky Trees last season winning the game at Loftus Road 2-0 and drawing the one at the City Ground 1-1. The East Midlands side are without a win in four against their London opponents and have just one in their last six.

Betting Tips and Predictions

These two sides sit in 12th and 13th and with little to choose between them I think the prices look accurate. Do not get sucked into thinking that because QPR beat two of the top three that they will automatically win this one as they have already failed to win at Barnsley and Burton on the road this season. In three of their last four the London outfit have netted in the first-half while the Midlands outfit have shipped a goal in the first 45 minutes in six of their last eight in all competitions so this looks worth a small interest. Idrissa Sylla has three in his last four and looks worth an anytime goalscorer play here against a side that has shipped five goals in their last two fixtures.

Nottingham Forest Preview

It has been an inconsistent season for Forest who have three victories and three defeats from their last six. They sat in 13th place ahead of the weekend fixtures with just one of their next six against a team in the top eight. At the City Ground, they have won their last two games though before that lost three straight. Six of their last seven in all competitions at home has seen both teams score exactly two or three goals. The 26 they have conceded is the joint fourth worst defensive record in the league while the 21 they have netted is the joint seventh best attack. In each of their last three Forest have netted in the final 15 minutes.

Nottingham Forest Team News

Armand Traore (unknown) is a doubt while Matty Cash continues to develop his fitness with the under 23 squad.

Queens Park Rangers Preview

It has been an excellent week so far for the Rs who defeated Wolves at the weekend and Sheffield United in midweek both of whom were top at the time. They now sit in 12th place though they have a tricky run of fixtures ahead (mind you given their form against good teams this might be a bonus). Away from Loftus Road, they have not won any of their seven this season though they have managed draws in their last three. Both teams to score has happened in six of these seven and in each of their last five. 11 of the 15 that QPR have played in the league this season have featured a total of two or three goals. Idrissa Sylla is in good goalscoring form and has netted three in the last four games.

Queens Park Rangers Team News

Grant Hall (knee) has suffered a setback in training while James Perch (dislocated kneecap) and Nedum Onuoha (hamstring) are still absent.
