Nottingham Forest vs Norwich City Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Tuesday evening game (19:45) features two sides next to each in other in 11th and 12th in the Championship table. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats. Nottingham Forest will be looking to bounce back after suffering a 1-0 road loss at Birmingham on Saturday. The Blues took the lead in the fifth minute and the visitors struggled to break them down after that and the result was a fair reflection. Norwich can consider themselves a little bit fortunate to have come away with a point in their home draw with Barnsley. They took the lead through a 12th minute Josh Murphy strike but after conceding an equalizer rarely looked like taking all three points. The two meetings between the pair last season were both won by the Canaries who won 5-1 at Carrow Road and 2-1 in the City Ground. Wes Hoolahan has netted in two of his last three against Forest.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Bookmakers are struggling to split the pair and I think that the draw is the best way to play this game. These two sides are 11th and 12th in the table and are separated by just one point and have near identical goal differences suggesting that there will be little to choose between the duo. Given that Forest have the seventh best ranked attack and the Canaries have scored in all but one of their eight road games this season you should also consider a little interest on the result to be a score draw.

Nottingham Forest Preview

It is now two defeats in three for Forest though before that they had won three of the previous four. They are currently in 11th place and have three of their next four fixtures at the City Ground. At the City Ground, they have won each of their last three scoring eight goals in the process and conceding just once. Three of their last five and five of their last eight at their own ground in all competitions have seen both teams score. Three of their last four have gone over 2.5 goals and have in fact gone over 3.5 goals. Their last five matches have seen at least once goal scored in the last 15 minutes.

Nottingham Forest Team News

Chris Cohen and Danny Fox (both knees) are unlikely to play any part in this game.

Norwich City Preview

A draw last time out put to an end a three-game losing run for the Canaries but it is no victory in five in all competitions. The East Anglian outfit are in 12th place and all their next six fixtures are against teams in the top 14. Away from Carrow Road, they have won four of their last five in the league though did lose their last road trip at Bolton. Norwich have failed to score in just one of their eight on their travels this season. Just 31% of the goals City have scored this season have come in the first-half with just 6% between the 16th and 45th minute. If the league was settled on scorelines after 45 minutes then Norwich would be as low as 22nd.

Norwich City Team News

Alex Pritchard (ankle) and Steven Naismith (groin) are back in training while Matt Jarvis (ankle) and Alex Tettey (calf) are closing in on returns. The game will come too soon though for Jamal Lewis (knee) and Louis Thompson (Achilles).
