Nottingham Forest vs Cardiff City Match Prediction

This Sunday lunchtime (13:00) game features two sides going well in the top-half of the Championship table. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.
Nottingham Forest bounced back to winning ways as they defeated Norwich 1-0 at the City Ground in midweek. A 77th minute Daryl Murphy goal proved to be the difference between the two sides. Cardiff made it back-to-back victories with a 1-0 victory at Oakwell over Barnsley on Tuesday night. Callum Paterson got the only goal of the game seven minutes from time in a fixture that seemed headed for a draw. The two meetings between this pair last season were won by Cardiff who won the game in Wales 1-0 and the match at the City Ground 2-1. Aron Gunnarson netted in both games and has scored in his last three against Forest.
Betting Tips and Predictions
Bookmakers are having trouble splitting the pair with Forest the marginal favourites and this seems a fair assessment. If pushed I would lean towards the draw but I would look elsewhere to find the match betting value. Forest have hosted three similar strong teams in the past few months beating Sheffield United 2-1 and losing to Fulham 3-1 and Wolves 2-1. I think this then points to a bet on over 2.5 goals and over 2.5 goals and YES both teams to score in a double as the single price on both teams to score is just a little short.

Nottingham Forest Preview
Five victories from their last eight has seen Forest climb into the top third of the Championship table. This represents the start of a tricky spell with seven of their next nine against teams in the top-half. At the City Ground, it is four straight victories with nine goals netted and just one goal conceded. Five of their last eight at home have gone over 2.5 goals with two of the last five going over 3.5. Around 56 % of the goals the East Midlands side have scored have come in the second-half with 35% of them in the final 15 minutes. Five of their last six have seen one or both teams score in the final 15 minutes.
Nottingham Forest Team News
Chris Cohen and Danny Fox (both knee issues) are unlikely to play any part in this game.
Cardiff City Preview
It is two straight victories for the Bluebirds and three from their last four as they try to keep the pressure on Wolves at the top. They sat four points behind them going into the weekend though this is their highest ranked (8th) opponent in their next 13. Away from the Cardiff City Stadium, it has been a mixed bag with three victories, a draw and three defeats from their last seven. Three of their last five on the road have gone under 1.5 goals each one ending 1-0. Their defence has conceded just 13 goals this season which is the best defensive record in the league. Their attack has been decent also with 25 goals scored enough to put them in the top ten attacking sides.
Cardiff City Team News
Omar Bogle will miss out through suspension while Kenneth Zohore (ankle), Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (leg), Ashley Richards, Kadeem Harris (both ankle), Rhys Healey (cruciate) and Lee Camp (groin) are all expected to be out.
