Newcastle United vs Manchester United Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Newcastle United dropped points late in the game as they came away from a trip to Vicarage Road with a 1-1 draw. Salomon Rondon came up with a bullet header in the 29th minute to put Newcastle in front. Just when it seemed that the Magpies would snatch a second away win in three matches, Abdoulaye Doucoure came up with an equaliser in the 82nd minute. Manchester United were able to come up with yet another impressive performance to beat Bournemouth 4-1 at home. A brace from Paul Pogba and a goal from Marcus Rashford put United in a commanding position before Nathan Ake scored what would be Bournemouth’s consolation in the match. Romelu Lukaku restored the two-goal advantage late in the second half while Eric Bailly was sent off in the match.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Manchester United have been going through an amazing run of form at the moment. Newcastle have played well of late and the heavy loss against Liverpool is the only major blip for the Magpies over the last few weeks. United have been going through a remarkable streak in front of goal and it is unlikely to stop even with a decent defensive approach from Newcastle. However, United have been unable to keep clean sheets and Salomon Rondon will be hard to stop. I would pick a win for United and over 2.5 goals.

The four Marcus Rashford has been extremely good over the last few weeks and he came up with his fifth goal of the campaign in the win over Bournemouth. The forward has been able to get four goals in his last six appearances. I would back Rashford to score anytime.

Newcastle United Preview

Newcastle have done relatively well in the last few weeks to keep themselves in the clear when it comes to relegation battle. The two losses for Newcastle over the last five matches do not hurt them a lot, but Benitez has to be concerned with team only three points above the relegation zone. The lack of threat going forward has been a major problem for Newcastle throughout the campaign and, even now, they have been unable to score more than 2.5 goals in any of the matches this season.

Newcastle United Team News

Federico Fernandez (hip), Ciaran Clark (ankle), Karl Darlow (elbow), and Sung-Yueng Ki (international duty) are unavailable for Rafa Benitez.

Manchester United Preview

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made a tremendous impact at Manchester United and the return of Sir Alex Ferguson to the training ground is expected to extend this positivity even further. United have been able to blitz past opposition since Solskjaer came to the club, but the Red Devils are now set for a tricky run of matches. They will provide greater challenges for the club, who have looked like enjoying the football once again after the dull times under Mourinho.

Manchester United Team News

Alexis Sanchez (hamstring), Marcos Rojo (knock), Scott McTominay (knock), Marcus Rashford (groin), and Chris Smalling (foot) are unavailable due to injuries. Eric Bailly is suspended for the match.
