NAC Breda vs FC Volendam Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

NAC Breda and Volendam will square off at the Rat Verlegh Stadion on Sunday at lunchtime, with both sides looking for a place in the Eredivisie promotion/relegation play-offs after they drew 2-2 on Thursday in the first leg of their tie. After a goalless halftime, NAC Breda found the opener just after the hour mark through Thomas Agyepong, but Daniel van Son levelled the game for Volendam three minutes later. Furthermore, Nick Runderkamp gave Volendam the lead with just five minutes to go, and the game seemed to be heading for a home win, but Breda’s striker Cyriel Dessers found the back of the net in the 89th minute, and both sides had to settle for a 2-2 draw. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news and match stats all in our SBAT preview.

Check out our Bwinbet review here.

Betting Predictions and Tips

Both teams have been involved in high-scoring affairs over the past month, so I’m expecting another entertaining game with goals at both ends of the field. NAC Breda have scored at least once in 12 of their last 15 home competitive fixtures, while Volendam found the back of the net in 12 of their last 15 trips across all competitions.

NAC Breda Preview

NAC Breda have enjoyed an impressive run of form over the past two months, losing just twice in their last 13 games across all competitions. They enter the fray on the back of a five-game unbeaten run in all competitions, including their 2-2 away draw at Volendam on Thursday. Breda looked very prolific going forward over the past month, scoring at least two goals in four of their last five competitive games. Breda’s home form over the past seven months has been near impeccable as they have only lost twice in their last 15 home fixtures across all competitions. In addition, NAC Breda suffered just one defeat in their seven home meetings with Volendam in all competitions while winning four. NAC Breda were an iconic team in the Eredivisie a few years ago and they even managed to lift the title back in 2000. However, they had some financial problems with a debt of 7.1 million Euros at the end of season 2009/2010 and this was the main reason for their relegation in the Eerste Divisie. Cyriel Dessers has enjoyed an excellent campaign for NAC Breda this season, helping the team with 22 goals during the regular season with one goal in the play-offs.

NAC Breda Team News

There are no fresh injury concerns for Breda ahead of this game, but Cyriel Dessers, Giovanni Korte, Arno Verschueren and Chiro N’Toko are all one-yellow card away from suspension.

FC Volendam Preview

Meanwhile, Volendam have endured a mixed run of form over the past three months, registering five defeats, six draws and four wins in their last 15 games across all competitions. Keeping the ball out of their own net has been Volendam’s main reason for their recent struggle as they conceded at least two goals in six of their last seven competitive fixtures. Their recent away form has also been a problem as Volendam are winless in their most recent three trips, conceding at least two goals in each of these. The good news is that Volendam have scored plenty of goals throughout the regular season and they proved they have enough firepower within their squad on Thursday by scoring another two goals. Kevin van Kippersluis has been the club’s top scorer during the regular season with 13 goals under his belt, while Kees Kwakman and Jack Tuyp bagged 16 goals between them. Head-to-head, Volendam are winless in their last two meetings with Breda since a 2-1 home win back in September 2016 in the Eerste Divisie.

FC Volendam Team News

Volendam should have the all squad available for this game.
