Monaco Preview

Monaco came from behind to find their way past Toulouse at home on Saturday, winning 3-1 to take another step closer to the Premier League title. Ola Toivonen gave the away side a shock lead at the start of the second half, but the deficit wasn’t to last long, with Kamil Glik restoring parity just three minutes after the Swede’s opener. Kylian Mbappe once again enhanced his growing reputation with a clinical finish from Bernardo Silva’s sliderule pass, with Thomas Lemar wrapping up the victory fifteen minutes from time. The victory was Monaco’s eighth in a row in Ligue 1 and they are in incredible form, winning fourteen and drawing two of their last sixteen in domestic action. In comparison to last season, Monaco have made tremendous progression this term, already accumulating eighteen more points than they finished last season with, while also netting thirty-eight more goals with four games still to play. With ninety-five goals in Ligue 1 this term, they now face one of the best defensive sides on the continent, providing a significant test for the free-scoring French side. Coming into this game, Leonardo Jardim’s side have won four on the bounce at home in the Champions League, going unbeaten at the Stade Louis II in their previous ten in Europe. Eight of those games have been victories and they will feel they need to take a lead to Turin to have a real chance of making the final.

Pierre-Daniel Guinda and Gabriel Boschilia are both ruled out for the rest of the season with cruciate ligament injuries. Djibril Sidibe (stomach) and Tiemoue Bakayoko (broken nose) will be assessed, but Guido Marcelo Carrillo (groin) is back in training.

Juventus Preview

Juventus retained their nine-point advantage over Roma at the weekend despite conceding late on to draw 2-2 away to European-chasing Atalanta. Serie A’s fifth-placed side initially took the lead, with wing-back Andrea Conti firing the home side in front on the stroke of half-time. However, Juventus’ response at the start of the second half was swift, moving back on level terms following a Leonardo Spinadzzola’s own goal. Dani Alves appeared to have won the Juve when he scored in the 83rd minute, but Remo Freuler struck with a minute to go to earn Atalanta a brave point. The result ends a three-match winning streak for Juventus in Serie A, although they remain unbeaten in fifteen with twelve victories and three draws since losing 2-1 away to Fiorentina. Juve were outstanding in their quarter-final tie with Barcelona, winning 3-0 in the first leg before an outstanding defensive performance saw them hold the Catalans to a 0-0 draw in the Nou Camp. Massimiliano Allegri’s side are unbeaten away from home in the Champions League, winning four and drawing one of their five on the road since the start of the group stages. During those games, they have conceded just one goal, keeping an extremely impressive four clean sheets away from home in the competition thus far. Runners-up in 2015, Juve will see this as an excellent opportunity to progress to their second final in three seasons.

Juventus Team News

Daniele Rugani remains doubtful for Juve, while Marko Pjaca (cruciate ligament) is sidelined indefinitely. Allegri is likely to name an unchanged lineup from the weekend having stuck with a settled XI in recent weeks.
