Monaco vs FC Porto Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Monaco welcome FC Porto at the Stade Louis II on Tuesday night, with both sides looking for their first victory of their Champions League group G campaign. Monaco fought back from one-goal down to secure a 1-1 away draw at RB Leipzig thanks to a first-half goal from Youri Tielemans. On the other hand, FC Porto lost 1-3 at home at the hands of Besiktas in their Champions League group opener a fortnight ago, with their consolation goal being an own-goal from Dusko Tosic. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news, match stats and odds all in our SBAT preview.

Betting Predictions and Tips - Match Odds

Monaco had an impressive Champions League campaign last season, and despite losing several key players this summer, they still started the new competitive season in a strong manner. Monaco’s home form over the past five months has seen them lose just two of their last 15 home games across all competitions while winning eleven. Monaco to win at odds 21/20 look good value, if we are taking into account that Monaco have only suffered two defeats in their last 14 European home games.

Betting Prediction: Monaco to win at odds 21/20 with Bet365

Monaco v Porto - Correct score betting tips and odds

Monaco’s last four games across all competitions have seen them score more than three goals in each of these, while Porto have only scored four goals in their three league games so far this season. I think that Porto are capable of getting on the scoresheet here, but Monaco should be able to win with the 3-1 score in this one.

Correct Score Prediction: Monaco to win 3-1 at odds 14/1 with Bet365

Monaco v Porto - Total Goals predictions and odds

Monaco have scored at least three goals in each of their last four home games across all competitions, while Porto’s last three competitive fixtures have seen more than three goals scored. Away from home, Porto netted at least two goals in four of their last seven away games across all competitions.

Total Goals Prediction: Over 2.5 goals at 4/5 with bet365

Monaco saw over 1.5 goals in 8 out of their last 10 games played

Monaco saw over 1.5 goals in 5 out of their last 5 games played against FC Porto

Monaco Preview

Monaco have only lost two of their nine official games in this early part of their 2017/18 competitive season, although they still need to travel to Lille in Ligue 1 this weekend before facing Porto on Tuesday. They only drew 1-1 against RB Leipzig in Germany last time out in the Champions League, but bounced back with a 3-0 home win over Strasbourg in Ligue 1 last weekend. Regarding their Champions League recent history, Monaco had a memorable European season last term, beating the likes of Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund before losing 4-1 on aggregate at the hands of Juventus in the Semi-finals. Actually, they reached the Semi-finals of the competition in 1994, 1998 and 2017 and were finalists in 2004. The Monegasque side were unbeaten in seven home fixtures in the Champions League prior to their 0-2 loss at the hands of Juventus in the first leg of their Semi-finals tie last season. Actually, Monaco have only lost two of their last 14 European home fixtures. Overall, Monaco have only lost twice in their last 15 home games across all competitions and are currently on a four-game winning streak. In addition, the Monegasques are undefeated at home against Portuguese opponents, registering two wins and three draws.

Monaco Team News

Danijel Subasic, Loic Badiashile and Pierre-Daniel Nguinda are both missing through injury, while Balde Diao Keita is a doubt.

FC Porto Preview

FC Porto have picked up victories in each of their opening six league games and they have a great opportunity to extend it to seven games on Friday when they take on Portimonense. Porto’s sole defeat in this 2017/18 competitive season was their 1-3 home loss at the hands of Besiktas in their Champions League group opener. Apart from their heavy defeat against the Turkish side, Porto have only conceded once in six games. Porto can count on their recent away form as they are currently on a six-game winning streak across all competitions, conceding just three goals in the process. Regarding their Champions League recent history, this is Porto’s 7th consecutive group stage campaign and their 22nd overall. The bad news is that Porto have only won once in their last four Champions League games, scoring none in the process. Last season, the Portuguese side have collected just four points on the road in three Champions League visits. Head-to-head, Porto have won their both meetings with Monaco across all competitions, scoring six goals and conceding none in this term. Vincent Aboubakar and Moussa Marega have been Porto’s most dangerous player in this early part of their domestic campaign, as the pair bagged nine goals between them.

FC Porto Team News

Alex Nicolao Telles is a doubt, but Andre Filipe Bras Andre is out through injury.
