Millwall vs Birmingham City Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

Millwall are on the brink of falling back into the relegation zone, and they host Birmingham on Wednesday night hoping to get some points on the board.

Millwall come here on the back of a 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Bolton, but prior to that they had lost their last two games. That dragged them back towards the relegation zone and right now only their goal difference is keeping them out of trouble, something that may not be the case by the time they kick off on Wednesday after Tuesday night’s games.

Birmingham struggled at the start of the season, drawing a lot of their games but since then they have improved and performed much better. They have won three of their last six games, but come here on the back of a 4-2 derby defeat away at Aston Villa. That will have hurt, and this game is all about bouncing back for them.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Millwall have shown little to suggest they can keep away from the relegation battle this season, and a tough second half of the season awaits for them. Birmingham have been much better recently, and climbed up into a mid-table position, something they will be looking to maintain. A derby defeat will have hurt, but Birmingham are the better team here, and they can make that count by picking up the win.

Both teams will know the importance of the points on offer here, but that shouldn’t stop the teams from attacking. In five of the last six Birmingham games, both teams have scored while that has happened in four of the last six Millwall games, so that is another bet worth having on Wednesday night.

Millwall Preview

After picking up a couple of wins at the end of October, Millwall have lost two and drawn one of their three games so far this month. That has dragged them back into the relegation battle, and they only sit outside of the bottom three due to their goal different.

There looks to be many teams down at the bottom who are set to be involved in the relegation battle, and Millwall need to use their experience to come out on top. They are just four points off Brentford in 15th, showing how close this league is and a couple of wins would make all the difference.

Birmingham City Preview

Birmingham have lost just two of their last six games and they came away at Derby, which is a tough place to go, and an away derby defeat to Aston Villa. Other than that it has been good recently for Birmingham and they will be looking to build on that over the coming weeks.

They are currently seven points off the playoffs, which is a big gap at this stage and if they want to make any impact on that, Birmingham are going to have to play even better over the next few weeks.
