Manchester United vs Swansea City Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Manchester United return from the international break after having sealed their place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup by beating Brighton 2-0 at Old Trafford. Romelu Lukaku’s opener was built upon by a late goal from Nemanja Matic, as Jose Mourinho’s team quickly recovered from the Champions League disappointment. Swansea City were well beaten by Spurs at the Liberty Stadium as the game finished as a 3-0 loss. Christian Eriksen scored either side of a goal from Erik Lamela to register a fine victory for Tottenham and send Swansea out of the FA Cup.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Swansea were able to pick up a surprise draw in their last visit to Old Trafford, but United appeared to be so determined to keep their noses in front of Liverpool that it is difficult to look beyond the hosts. Swansea have also come in with some poor performances in the last two matches. Since Swansea are without a win in 12 out of 13 away matches, the best pick in this game would be the back in Manchester United win at half-time and full-time.

Manchester United have kept only one clean sheet in the last five games. Swansea may have been unable to score in the last two games, but the Welsh outfit has a good record when it comes to scoring at Old Trafford – scoring in five out of the six visits. The lack of Jordan Ayew is a blow, but I would back Swansea to get at least one goal.

Manchester United win at half-time and full-time – 8/11

Both teams to score – 6/4

Manchester United Preview

After a string of disappointments, Manchester United have two major tasks in the remainder of the 2017-18 campaign – finish in the second spot and win the FA Cup. Liverpool remain too close to comfort as the Reds are only two points behind Manchester United. Jose Mourinho has been in the limelight for the last few months owing to his handling of the team. The Portuguese will once again be at the centre stage ahead of this match. The manager has been pointing a lot of fingers within the United squad and this could either make or break the remainder of the campaign.

Manchester United Team News

Daley Blind (ankle), Ashley Young (knee), Scott McTominay (calf), Angel Gomes, and Sergio Romero (knee) are missing from action for Jose Mourinho.

Swansea City Preview

Swansea remain outside the drop zone, but the Welsh outfit are certainly not beyond their relegation troubles. After having produced spirited performances since the appointment of Carlos Carvalhal, Swansea have had two mediocre games against Huddersfield and Tottenham. The next few weeks could test Swansea to the maximum, as the team are up against the two Manchester clubs and Everton in the next four games. The best chance for Swansea to avoid relegation will be to win the three matches left against the bottom three teams of Southampton, Stoke, and West Brom.

Swansea City Team News

Swansea will be without the injured Angel Rangel (groin), Wilfried Bony (cruciate ligament), and Leroy Fer (Achilles tendon). Jordan Ayew is the player suspended for the match.
