The first-leg clash between these two sides have ended as a nil-nil draw in Spain, in a match in which Sevilla had 25 goalscoring chances while United had just one shot on target. Manchester United have been in incredible shape on home soil over the past six months and we fancy them to grab a victory here and to qualify for the next stage of the competition. However, we still expect Sevilla to get on the scoresheet here as they have netted at least one goal in eight of their last ten competitive trips.

Manchester United Preview

Manchester United are unbeaten in five competitive fixtures at the moment, a run which stretches back to the middle of February when they lost 1-0 on the road at Newcastle United. After their nil-nil draw in Seville a fortnight ago, Manchester United bounced back with three consecutive wins in the Premier League. They beat Liverpool at the weekend and they are now four points clear of the third-placed Tottenham Hotspur. Manchester United’s home form over the past six months have been near perfect, as they have only lost once in their last 15 competitive games. In addition, the Red Devils are undefeated in twelve Champions League home fixtures, winning ten in this term. United should feel confident ahead of this tie as they have won eleven of the 15 UEFA competition ties in which they recorded a first-leg away draw. Furthermore, Mourinho’s men hold a solid head-to-head home record against Spanish opponents, losing just four of their 23 meetings with Spaniards.

Manchester United Team News

Daley Blind and Paul Pogba are both doubts, but Demetri Mitchell and Ander Herrera are both missing through injury.

Sevilla Preview

Sevilla looked incredibly solid against Manchester United in the first leg of this tie a fortnight ago, but they have struggled a little bit in La Liga since then. They have won two and lost two of their last four league fixtures, including a 0-2 home defeat against Valencia at the weekend. Surprisingly, Sevilla looked solid on the road over the past two months, having suffered just one loss in their last six competitive fixtures. The bad news is that Sevilla are winless in six trips to England, losing three and drawing three in the process. The interesting fact is that Sevilla have won three of the six UEFA competition ties in which they drew the home first leg. In addition, Los Rojiblancos are undefeated in their two meetings with Manchester United across all competitions, conceding just once in the process. Ben Yedder is having a great season at the moment, particularly in the Champions League where he managed to score six goals so far.

Sevilla Team News

Jesus Navas and Lionel Carole are both doubts, but Sebastien Corchia is back in training.
