Manchester United Preview
Not even Jose Mourinho can have too many complaints with the start his Manchester United side have made to the new Premier League season, They were dominant against Swansea, winning 4-0 at the Liberty Stadium and were sent on their way when defender Eric Bailly tapped in from close range. With the game relatively tight at 1-0, Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial all scored for the second game running with ten minutes to go - Lukaku netting his third United goal in two games - as Mourinho ‘let his horses run freely’ in south Wales. Top of the table with a +8 goal difference and maximum points, United have laid down a clear marker to the rest of their title rivals that they mean business this season - and will not be lurking in around 6th place this time around. Mourinho has lost just one of his twenty home Premier League games as United boss, winning three of their last four at Old Trafford along with a clean sheet. For all the draws that have occurred during that period, United will believe they have found the solution to their problem of putting teams to bed with the signing of Lukaku, who has fitted in seamlessly to life at Old Trafford.
Manchester United Team News
Marcos Rojo (cruciate ligament) is United’s only injury doubt, with Luke Shaw and Ashley Young both returning to full first-team training this week.
Leicester City Preview
Leicester may have expected more of a buoyant test from promoted Brighton last time out, but in turn comfortably saw off their opponents at the King Power Stadium with a routine 2-0 victory. The Foxes were a goal ahead inside the first minute of the contest, as Shinji Okazaki netted his second goal in two games with a finish from close range after Matt Ryan was unable to hold Riyad Mahrez’s effort. Mahrez then provided the delivery for Leicester’s second goal, with Harry Maguire rising highest to head in his far-post corner. Despite wishing to seal a move to Serie A Roma, Mahrez’s attitude amidst the uncertainty surrounding his situation has been admirable and will only help the outside perception of the player. Manager Craig Shakespeare has now won six of his eight home Premier League matches in charge of the club, as he now looks to get some points from a testing opening pair of away games. In total, four of Leicester’s first six fixtures sees them face Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool, giving them an extremely testing start to the campaign.
Leicester City Team News
Wes Morgan (back) and Vicente Iborra (groin) will both be assessed before this clash. Jamie Vardy (ankle) should be fine to feature, while Kelechi Iheanacho (toe) could also be involved in the matchday squad.
