Manchester United vs Fulham Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Manchester United were involved in a second consecutive 2-2 draw in the space of a few days, as the Red Devils secured a point against Arsenal. Shkodran Mustafi scored from a free header in the 26th minute but Anthony Martial equalised just four minutes later. Marcos Rojo’s mistake in the 60th minute lead to Arsenal retaking the lead, but it took just 13 seconds for United to get back to Jesse Lingard. Fulham still await their first clean sheet of the campaign after being pegged back to a 1-1 draw by Leicester City. Aboubakar Kamara’s excellent solo goal helped Fulham opened the scoring just before half-time, but James Maddison’s well-timed run into the box gave Leicester an equaliser.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Fulham are unlikely to be confident in this match given that they have picked up one point from a possible 24 on the road this season. Manchester United may not possess a strong record at Old Trafford – just three wins in seven – but they have shown plenty of spirit in recent games. United have clawed back to take a point from losing positions in the last two games. The Red Devils have much better quality compared to Fulham but they have been disappointing at the back. I would back a win for United and under 3.5 goals.

Marcus Rashford has been one of Manchester United’s best players in recent weeks. The energy and the hunger shown by the England international has been 2nd to none. The poor form experienced by Romelu Lukaku and the absence of Anthony Martial due to a hamstring injury make Rashford as a likely candidate to score anytime in this match.

Manchester United Preview

Manchester United have continued their extended run of poor results in the Premier League to leave the club closer to the bottom half of the table. United find themselves in the eighth spot of the league table with an incredible eight points separating them from the top four places. Jose Mourinho is still trying to find a winning combination and this has resulted in players like Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku being relegated to the bench in recent matches. After having picked up only three league victories since the middle of September, United are in desperate need of an improvement in domestic form.

Manchester United Team News

Luke Shaw (knock), Alexis Sanchez (hamstring), Phil Jones, and Victor Lindelof (hamstring) are unavailable for Jose Mourinho.

Fulham Preview

Fulham have made up significant ground toward safety since the appointment of Claudio Ranieri, but the Italian knows that the team’s defensive performances have to improve even further if they are to avoid the drop. The Cottagers have let in an astonishing 36 league goals – more than any other team in the 2018-19 Premier League table – and it was a primary factor behind the departure of Slavisa Jokanovic. Ranieri has been in charge for three matches and Fulham have failed to keep a clean sheet in all three games, but there has been a substantial improvement in terms of performances at the back.

Fulham Team News

Floyd Ayite (groin) and Kevin McDonald (hamstring) are unavailable for Fulham.
