Manchester United vs Brighton & Hove Albion Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Manchester United were able to claim a fifth consecutive victory for the first time this season after a 1-0 success over Tottenham at the Wembley Stadium. Mauricio Pochettino’s men had numerous chances over the 90 minutes, but a goal from Marcus Rashford just before half-time and a string of saves from David de Gea ensured a victory for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team. Liverpool were able to end Brighton’s four-game unbeaten sequence by getting a 1-0 victory at the AMEX Stadium. Mohamed Salah won and converted the penalty just after half-time to provide a blow for Brighton’s home form.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Brighton may have come up with back-to-back wins over Manchester United but it is noteworthy that these victories have not been at Old Trafford. After moving within touching distance of the top four places, United are unlikely to rest in the next few weeks. Even though Brighton are expected to defend deep and with numbers, United have the necessary creativity to come out with a victory and over 2.5 goals.

Paul Pogba has been in sensational form over the last few weeks. He has himself admitted that the role under Solskjaer because he gets to defend little and attack more. Pogba is a significant presence in any offensive situation and he came close to scoring goals even against Tottenham during the weekend. I would pick Paul Pogba to score anytime.

Manchester United win and over 2.5 goals – 5/6

Manchester United Preview

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been able to revive the fortunes of Manchester United in quite an incredible way. Apart from the incredible detail shown by the Norwegian when it comes to preparing for the opposition, United have also been able to provide a lot of entertainment in the last few weeks. The game against Spurs was seen as the toughest test for United, but they came out with three points to reassert their push for a top-four finish. United are now a few points away from catching Chelsea, while struggling Arsenal can be dealt with easily. Paul Pogba has been a player reborn under Solskjaer and he has directly played a role in eight goals over the last five matches.

Manchester United Team News

Alexis Sanchez (hamstring), Marcos Rojo (knock), and Chris Smalling (foot) are unavailable.

Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

Chris Hughton has been able to stick with the tried and trusted philosophy of being defensively hard to beat, but this has led to a lack of zing going forward. Brighton have a defence that has conceded fewer goals than most of the teams in the top half of the table. Yet, the reliance on Glen Murray continues to have an impact on the team, which has also scored a lot of goals from set-piece situations. The recent impact from Brighton has been exciting but most of the best results for the team have been at home.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Jose Izquierdo (knee), Bernardo (hamstring), and Soufyan Ahannach (broken leg) are unavailable due to injuries, while Matthew Ryan and Alireza Jahanbakhsh are out on international duty.
