Man City were 4-2 winners at Napoli on Wednesday evening, while Arsenal were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Red Star Belgrade. Read on for a full match preview complete with betting tips and predictions.

Betting Tips and Predictions

This will be another tough test for Pep Guardiola’s side, though one which I feel they should be able to overcome. Arsenal have historically struggled away from home against top six sides and I’m expecting that trend to continue here.

Manchester City Preview

Tottenham’s win over Real Madrid perhaps saw less attention paid to Manchester City in midweek, but take nothing away from Pep Guardiola’s team who overcame a huge test to beat Napoli 4-2 away from home. Lorenzo Insigne gave the hosts the lead, but goals from defenders Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones put City ahead. Jorginho responded from the penalty spot but Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling got their names on the scoresheet to ensure Guardiola’s side sealed their passage through to the last 16 of the competition in style. It also saw their winning run in all competitions extend to 14 games, with confidence appearing to be at an all-time high at the Etihad Stadium. How this team are able to respond to adversity will be fascinating to see, with it inevitable that they won’t have things all their own way throughout the campaign. Scoring 20 goals in just their last four home Premier League games, City have been prolific at the Etihad this season but will be hoping to improve on their recent record against Arsenal. With just one win in their last nine against the Gunners in all competitions, they have been surprisingly poor against Arsene Wenger’s men in recent times, though they did beat them 2-1 in this fixture last season.

Manchester City Team News

Defenders Vincent Kompany (calf) and Benjamin Mendy (cruciate ligament) are both ruled out this weekend for the hosts.

Arsenal Preview

Arsenal booked their place in the knockout stages of the Europa League in unremarkable fashion on Thursday night after being held to a 0-0 draw at home to Red Star Belgrade. A much-changed Arsenal team were unable to find a way past the stubborn Serbian outfit, but it proved to be enough to see them earn their place in the next round of the competition without ever really having to call on many of their first-choice players. Ultimately their priority this season is the Premier League, something Arsene Wenger has made no secret of all season, particularly when looking at his team selection. The Gunners have now won four of their last five Premier League games following their 2-1 win over Swansea City last weekend, losing just once in their last seven. That form has seen them respond well to what ultimately was a tough start to the season, now finding themselves outside of the top four only on goal difference, with both they and Chelsea on 19 points at present. That said, Wenger’s side have won just one of their five away games in the Premier League this term, failing to score in three of those outings.

Arsenal Team News

Arsenal will be without David Ospina (groin), Shkodran Mustafi (hamstring), Sead Kolasinac (hip), Santi Cazorla (achilles) and Danny Welbeck (groin) through injury.
