Malaga vs Valencia Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Malaga suffered a second consecutive 1-0 loss as it was the turn of Atletico Madrid to beat the bottom outfit. Antoine Griezmann came up with the only goal of the game inside the first minute. This turned out to be a huge setback for Jose Manuel Gonzalez and his team, who came closest to scoring through Roberto Rosales’ free-kick. Valencia picked up a first win in five games after beating Levante 3-1 at the Mestalla. Santi Mina scored from a corner after 12 minutes, but Levante were level just six minutes later through Sergio Postigo. Luciano Vietto put Valencia back in front in the second half before a late penalty from Dani Parejo confirmed three points for the home team.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Valencia were able to produce a crucial victory over Levante. Even though this win came at home, the team will be looking to replicate the same in the visit to the La Rosaleda. Valencia have managed only one win in the last six visits to this ground. Malaga have been able to pick up four wins in the last six home games against Valencia, but recent form is against the home team. I would back a win for Valencia.

Malaga have been unable to score in the last five games at the La Rosaleda. However, they encounter a Valencia outfit with no clean sheets in the last nine games across all competitions. The last two games have seen Malaga create some decent chances, and I see value behind backing both teams to score.

Malaga Preview

Malaga continue to display decent form but the team has been unable to get the results. If the latter does not improve soon, Malaga risk being cut off from the safety positions. Malaga are back at the bottom of the table and are already seven points behind Levante in the 17th place. There are just 15 matches left for Malaga to claw back this lead and push for safety. After having managed only three wins throughout the campaign, Malaga are looking like strong candidates for relegation. Gonzalo Castro and Diego Rolan are the top scorers at the club with three goals each.

Malaga Team News

Juan Carlos (cruciate ligament), Recio (hip), Zdravko Kuzmanovic (calf), and Adalberto Penaranda (hamstring) are the names unavailable for Malaga manager Gonzalez.

Valencia Preview

Valencia will be relieved to end the horrendous run of form that saw them suffer four consecutive defeat in all competitions. This was threatening to pull the team out of the top four places, as Real Madrid appear to have found the form in recent weeks. Three of those defeats were in the La Liga, as Valencia have been looking a shadow of the team that dominated the first half of the campaign. Even Deportivo Alaves have managed more points (10) than Valencia (9) in the last six matches. Simone Zaza is still the top scorer at Valencia with 10 goals.

Valencia Team News

Geoffrey Kondogbia (foot), Ezequiel Garay (leg), and Andreas Pereira (thigh) are the players on the sidelines for Valencia.
