Malaga preview

Malaga suffered their fifth draw of the season following a 2-2 away draw against Valencia last weekend. The hosts have struggled to win, as they stay closer to the relegation zone. The away side took an early lead in the 3rd minute as Pablo Fornals volleyed home to open his account. But the home side reacted well as Daniel Parejo’s cross was headed home by Rodrigo to equalise the score-line. Parejo was a threat with his crosses, and he was again effective in the 34th minute when he helped former Real Madrid youngster Medran scored. The visitors increased their intensity after the restart, and after creating a number of chances, they finally equalised in the stoppage time through Fornals to grab a point from the match. Malaga struggle with consistency as they prepare to face Granada on Friday.

Granada preview

Granada earned their first victory of the season following a shocking 2-1 victory against Sevilla last weekend. Both teams started well, creating chances but nothing materialised until the 27th minute when Sevilla’s Uche lead a counter attack, passing on to Boga who did good work before cutting back to on-loan Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira who scored from close range. Lomban made some crucial blocks for Granada in the first half to deny Sevilla and kept the hosts leading at half time. The Brazilian Pereria’s was flicked on by Artem Kravets as Lomban pounced on it to tap it home. Ochoa did well to deny Vietto and Vazquez from scoring, but Wissam Ben Yedder was able to score from a spot kick earned in the dying minutes. There was very little time for Sevilla to equalise as Granada grabbed an important victory. Granada need to built on this and use the confidence when they face Malaga on the weekend.
