Malaga vs Deportivo La Coruna Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Real Madrid were involved in a goalless draw with neighbours and rivals Atletico Madrid to further fall behind leaders Barcelona. Atletico had the best chance in the game with Kevin Gameiro’s effort being played off the line by Raphael Varane. Madrid, though, had more attempts at goal. Malaga were able to get a 3-2 home victory over Deportivo La Coruna to continue their recent the table. Roberto Rosales’ early goal was cancelled out by Lucas Perez and Fabian Schar. However, Malaga displayed a lot of grit and determination to get a victory through goals from Gonzalo Castro and Borja Baston.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

The strong surge of form for Malaga has come at the La Rosaleda, and the club are at a great disadvantage when it comes to away matches. Yet, they are up against a Real Madrid outfit that has struggled for goals in the league. Malaga have good defensive record against Real Madrid with over 2.5 goals conceded only once in the last six meetings. Despite goals in the Champions League, I would back Real Madrid to score under 3.5 goals. Malaga have not scored in four out of the last five away games in all competitions. Even though the club did score three goals in the latest league match, their terrible form on the road is a major cause of concern. I would go with Real Madrid to keep a clean sheet, as Zinedine Zidane’s team have not conceded at home in the last three La Liga matches.

Real Madrid to score under 3.5 goals – 10/11

Real Madrid clean sheet – 5/6

Malaga Preview

Real Madrid may have kissed the La Liga title hopes goodbye after a goalless draw with Atletico Madrid. Even though it was a point against their main rivals, falling 10 points behind Barcelona is not a good omen with the season yet to reach Christmas. The club did return to a strong result in the midweek Champions League match against APOEL. So far, home form has been the major worry for the club with just three wins in six matches at the Santiago Bernabeu. The club are at Madrid for four out of the next five games in all competitions. Isco and Marco Asensio remain the top scorers with four goals each.

Malaga Team News

Sergio Ramos (nose), Gareth Bale (thigh), Mateo Kovacic (groin), and Luca Zidane (shoulder) are the players unavailable for Real Madrid.

Deportivo La Coruna Preview

Malaga are making use of their home advantage to make up places in the table, as the club are now just one place away from safety. Even though the team are still four points behind 17th placed Eibar, the recent run of results will give the team a lot of confidence. Michel will now have to focus on transferring the home form into the away games. Three out of the next five games in all competitions for Michel’s team is at the La Rosaleda. This bodes well for their relegation battle, but there are also games against Real Sociedad and Real Madrid in these five matches. Diego Rolan is the top scorer at the club with two goals.

Deportivo La Coruna Team News

Zdravko Kuzmanovic (calf), Miguel Torres (calf), and Cenk Gonen (finger) are the players unavailable for Malaga.
