On the other hand, Leicester lost 2-1 on the road at Watford, despite the fact that Riyad Mahrez gave them the lead in the 37th minute. Liverpool Preview

Liverpool enter the fray on the back of a 14-game unbeaten streak across all competitions, winning nine in the process. The Reds were unlucky to secure only a 3-3 draw on the road at Arsenal last weekend, in a game in which they had a two-goal lead. However, they bounced with a thrashing 5-0 home win over Swansea on Tuesday. Liverpool currently lie 4th in the Premier League table with 38 points after 20 rounds, just four points of the third-placed Chelsea. Liverpool hold the second best attacking record in the division with 46 goals in 20 league outings. Mohamed Salah is the team’s top scorer with 15 goals under his belt, while Roberto Firmino and Coutinho have bagged 16 goals and ten assists between them. At home, the Reds are currently on a 15-game undefeated streak across all competitions, keeping a clean sheet in nine of these. Actually, Liverpool have only conceded twice in their last nine competitive home fixtures. Furthermore, the Reds are unbeaten in their last six home meetings with Leicester in the Premier League, winning five of these.

Liverpool Team News

Jordan Henderson and Adam Bogdan are both doubts, while Alberto Moreno and Nathaniel Clyne are both missing through injury. The good news is that Daniel Sturridge and Marko Grujic are both back in training.

Leicester City Preview

Meanwhile, Leicester’s recent form hasn’t been that good as they have lost three and drawn one of their last four games across all competitions. The Foxes did well to hold Manchester United to a 2-2 home draw last weekend, but succumbed to a narrow 2-1 defeat at Watford in midweek. They still sit on a comfortable 8th position in the league table, but they are now ten points of the 5th-placed Tottenham. Leicester managed to score 30 goals in 20 rounds so far this season, but they have also conceded 30 in the meantime. This is actually the joint worst defensive record in top ten. Away from home, the Foxes were on a seven-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League prior to their 2-1 defeat at Watford on Tuesday. The most worrying fact is that Leicester are winless in their last six trips to Anfield, conceding at least two goals in three of these. However, head-to-head, Leicester managed to win twice in their last four meetings with Liverpool across all competitions. Jamie Vardy is the club’s top scorer with eight goals under his belt, while Riyad Mahrez has helped the team with six goals and six assists so far this season.

Leicester City Team News

Danny Simpson is still out through a hamstring injury, but Robert Huth is back in training.
