Liverpool vs Everton Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

A better second-half performance against Watford helped Liverpool get a 3-0 win at Vicarage Road even when playing with 10 men for the last 10 minutes. Mohamed Salah continued his excellent run against Watford with the opener, which was built upon by Alexander-Arnold in the 76th minute. Jordan Henderson’s red card provided Watford with a glimmer of hope which was wiped out by a late goal from Roberto Firmino. Liverpool went on to lose 2-1 against PSG in the midweek Champions League game. Everton made it three consecutive home wins after beating Cardiff 1-0 at home. Gylfi Sigurdsson came up with the only goal just before the hour to help Everton fans breathe a sigh of relief.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Everton have a pretty dismal away record that does not give them hope going into this match. Liverpool have a much improved defence compared to last season and they have kept three clean sheets in the last four home matches. Even though Everton should do well on the counter due to the pace of Sigurdsson and Richarlison, it has not been the case. I would go with a win for Liverpool and over 2.5 goals due to the ability of both teams to score in this match.

Mohamed Salah was unable to score in the away game against PSG. However, he has contributed the opening goal in the last two league matches at Anfield while he has also scored in each of the last three games on this ground. Salah comes with a decent form and my pick is to back the Egyptian to score anytime.

Liverpool win and total goals over 2.5 – 1/1

Mohamed Salah to score anytime – 4/6

Liverpool saw over 1.5 goals in 8 out of their last 10 games played

Liverpool Preview

Liverpool have failed to deliver in recent away games and manager Jurgen Klopp will be glad to see his team get back to Anfield, where they are unbeaten in more than a year. A problem for Liverpool will have to be the absence of Jordan Henderson, which will force a reshuffle in the middle of the park. Henderson’s energy would be crucial in a Merseyside derby but Klopp and has to do with the suspended England player. Mohamed Salah has not hit the heights of last season but he is still Liverpool’s best players by a comfortable margin. Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have not been scoring goals at a consistent pace but they have managed nine goals between them.

Liverpool Team News

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (cruciate ligament), Divock Origi (illness), Adam Lallana (muscle), and Curtis Jones (hamstring) are unavailable due to injuries, while Jordan Henderson is suspended for the game.

Everton Preview

Marco Silva has done a wonderful job to get Everton pushing for a European qualification position, but this has largely been built on results at home. Everton have to get more than just four wins in order to start moving up the table. The team has picked up just one away victory in the 2018-19 Premier League campaign. There is also a heavy dependence on Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison to come up with the goals. The likes of Theo Walcott have been quite uninspiring this season.

Everton Team News

Jonjoe Kenny (knock) and Fraser Hornby (ankle) are the players unavailable for Everton.
