Liverpool vs AFC Bournemouth Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Liverpool once again dropped points in the league after a 1-1 draw with West Ham at the London Stadium. It was a lethargic performance from the Reds, who opened the scoring in the 22nd minute through Sadio Mane. West Ham’s response was emphatic with Michail Antonio coming up with the equaliser after just six minutes. Bournemouth surrendered meekly against Cardiff City after a 2-0 defeat. Bobby Reid scored from a penalty after just five minutes to hand an advantage to a very emotional atmosphere. The 26-year-old scored just after the break to provide a decisive lead for Cardiff.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Liverpool have a solid record against Bournemouth, who perform poorly when it comes to away matches. The Cherries do not create many opportunities on the road and it will be music to Liverpool’s defence, which has struggled for form and confidence of late. After keeping three consecutive blanks against Bournemouth, Liverpool will be in a confident mood to pick up a fourth consecutive team sheet against this opponent.

Mohamed Salah has a sensational record against Bournemouth after coming up with five goals in his three matches against the Cherries – including a hat-trick in the recent meeting back in December. The Egyptian has a great deal of responsibility to keep himself in the pole position from the Golden Boot title. I would back Mohamed Salah to score anytime.

Liverpool Preview

Liverpool have been stuttering in the Premier league over the last few weeks and it gives manager Jurgen Klopp a whole lot of pressure going into the next few weeks, as Liverpool also have to focus on the Champions League matches. After having failed to win the last two league matches, Liverpool are under a great deal of pressure to pick up three points before heading to the knockout stages of the Champions League against Bayern Munich. The Reds have struggled at the back with opposition easily being able to score past players like Virgil van Dijk, who were remarkable in the first half of the campaign.

Liverpool Team News

Dejan Lovren (hamstring), Jordan Henderson (muscle), Joe Gomez (leg), Trent Alexander-Arnold (ligament), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (cruciate ligament), and Georginio Wijnaldum (knee) are unavailable for the Reds.

AFC Bournemouth Preview

Manager Eddie Howe is still battling to help Bournemouth to a consistent set of results and he has not been helped by a very poor away run. The Cherries have been very poor when it comes to performing on the road with very little chances being created for the forwards. This has resulted in a poor set of results, which contribute to the low confidence levels experienced by the team for the last few months. The decision to integrate Dominic Solanke into the team has not paid dividends straightaway and it may take a few weeks before the striker makes an impact.

AFC Bournemouth Team News

Callum Wilson (knee), David Brooks (ankle), Simon Francis (cruciate ligament), and Lewis Cook (cruciate ligament) are unavailable for the Cherries.
