Levante vs Valencia Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Levante’s unbeaten start to the 2017-18 La Liga campaign continued after a shock 1-1 draw with Real Madrid. Ivi Lopez was able to silence the Santiago Bernabeu with a 12th minute goal from a set piece. Even though Lucas Vazquez helped Madrid get back level on terms, the home team struggled to break down the opposition. Karim Benzema went off with an injury while Marcelo was sent off late in the game. Valencia were involved in a goalless draw with Atletico Madrid during the weekend. Marcelino may be quite happy with point after watching Atletico dominate the game in terms of chances. Valencia had just one shot on target in the entire game. Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

The home team has ended up successful in the last six games between Levante and Valencia. Levante have been able to dominate the home games, while Valencia have been superior in matches at the Mestalla. After having secured a point against the reigning Spanish and European champions, Levante will be on a high. The club will also target the maximum points from the home games. Valencia had a mediocre away record last season. Despite managing a draw with Real Madrid in the last away game, Valencia may lack the motivational factor in this match. I would go with a win for Levante. Valencia have failed to score in three out of the last four visits to the Ciutat de Valencia. After having performed poorly going forward in the draw against Atletico Madrid, it is difficult to expect many goals from Marcelino’s team. I see value in backing total goals being under 2.5.

Levante Preview

It is a major surprise to see Levante remain unbeaten three games into the season – especially after having just returned from the second division. The club may have only picked up five points from these matches, but it is a great confidence booster. The positive start could not have come at a better time for Levante, who are at home for three out of the next four league matches. Manager Juan Muniz will stress the importance of home form in order to stay in the division. Ivi Lopez is the top scorer at the club for the 17/18 campaign with two goals so far.

Levante Team News

Jose Morales is serving the second of his three match suspension, while Roger Salvador (cruciate ligament) and Ivan Lopez (hamstring) are unavailable due to injuries.

Valencia Preview

The second consecutive draw is a blow for Valencia, as they have failed to take advantage of a home match against Atletico Madrid. Yet, Marcelino may be happy with the return of two points from games against the two Madrid clubs. The lack of a goal threat will be a cause of concern, as Valencia had been looking good going forward in the first two matches of the season. Valencia were able to score just under 1.5 goals per game last season. The team has netted only three in the opening three games this season.

Valencia Team News

Ruben Vezo (toe) is the only injury concern for manager Marcelino.
