Levante vs Leganes Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Levante were able to get a valuable goalless draw with Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan during the weekend. In a game of few chances for the away team, Jason came closest to scoring for Levante by striking the woodwork from a free kick. Leganes’ two-game winning run in all competitions ended with a 1-0 loss against Deportivo La Coruna. Adrian scored the only goal of the game in the 24th minute, but Leganes have had time to work on this upcoming match after their game against Real Madrid was postponed. Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

These two teams are facing each other for the first time in more than a decade. The previous meeting was in 2004 when both clubs were in the second division. Recent form for both outfits has been less than spectacular. Leganes may have won three away matches this season, but their last four away games have been a defeat. In contrast, Levante’s home form is not great with just a point from the last five at Ciudad de Valencia. Since both teams are struggling to score, I would go with a draw. Leganes have been unable to score in the last three away matches, while the team also has the worst scoring record so far with only 12 goals in 15 games. Levante have kept three clean sheets in the last five La Liga 2017-18 games. I see value in placing money on a clean sheet for the home team.

Levante Preview

Levante are being sucked into the relegation battle even with the team picking up points over the last couple of matches. The inability to convert draws into victories has been the key factor behind this poor run, as Levante have been able to get just one league victory since September – against Las Palmas at the Gran Canaria. The disappointing run is likely to make manager Juan Muniz rather concerned – even if the club has a five-point advantage over Levante. The club’s scoring form has taken a nasty dip over the last few weeks with only four goals scored and nine conceded in six matches. José Luis Morales and Enis Bardhi are the leading scorers at the club with four goals each.

Levante Team News

Roger Marti Salvador (cruciate ligament), Ivan Lopez (cruciate ligament), Alex Alegria (cruciate ligament), Chema (hamstring), Enis Bardhi (muscle), and Cheick Doukoure (leg) are the players unavailable for Levante.

Leganes Preview

After managing to raise several eyebrows in the first few months of the season with their lofty league positioning, Leganes have slipped out of the top 10 places and are 11th coming into this game. It is easy to see why Leganes have been dropping down the table – just 12 goals scored in 15 matches. In fact, Leganes’ scoring record is the worst across the division with only Deportivo Alaves – a team in the bottom three – being able to match this tally. Gabriel Pires is the top scorer at Leganes but with just three league goals this season.

Leganes Team News

Serantes (shoulder), Darko Brasanac (muscle), Dimitris Siovas (leg), Martin Mantovani (calf), Raul Garcia (gastrointestinal discomfort), Gabriel Pires (physical discomfort), and Alexander Szymanowski (physical discomfort) are the players who could potentially miss the match for Asier Garitano.
