Leicester City vs Tottenham Hotspur Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Leicester City went an impressive seven matches without defeat in all competitions after a 1-1 draw with Fulham at Craven Cottage. Aboubakar Kamara came up with the game’s opener with only three minutes of normal time left in the first half, but Leicester took a point thanks to James Maddison’s second-half goal. Tottenham were able to register a 3-1 win over Southampton to recover quickly from the North London derby defeat. Harry Kane’s opener after just nine minutes set the tone for the encounter. Early second-half goals from Lucas Moura and Son Heung-Min helped Spurs to a comfortable position, but they did concede late in the game through Charlie Austin.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Spurs are likely to rest a couple of players in anticipation of the upcoming game against Barcelona at the Camp Nou. Previously, the rotation policy has worked to some extent for Mauricio Pochettino’s men. Even though Leicester are unbeaten in seven games across all competitions, the team has been consistently overwhelmed by Spurs. Tottenham have been able to register three wins in the last five visits to the King Power Stadium, where Leicester have already lost this season. Spurs have not been involved in an away draw this season and I would back a victory for the visitors.

Harry Kane has scored more goals (13) against Leicester than any other team in his career. Even though there is a possibility of being rested, Kane is still my pick to come up with his 14th goal against the foxes in just 12 games.

Leicester City Preview

Leicester City have been on a tremendous unbeaten streak in the last few weeks, but manager Claude Puel will be concerned about his team being involved in too many stalemates. Leicester are inching towards the likes of Everton and Southampton, who have been the draw specialists of the 2018-19 campaign, after managing four draws in the last six matches. Incidentally, Leicester were not involved in a stalemate in any of the first nine matches. The club are struggling to pick up victories due to an offence that has been unable to score in decent numbers. Leicester have averaged only a goal per game over the last six games.

Leicester City Team News

Jamie Vardy (groin) and Daniel Amartey (broken ankle) are unavailable for Leicester.

Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Spurs quickly recovered from the North London derby defeat and it was extremely important for Mauricio Pochettino’s men to pick up the win over Southampton and stay in touch with the top four. The manner of the defeat against Arsenal could have easily spilled over to forthcoming matches, but Spurs did put up an impressive show against the Saints. Despite having a small squad, Spurs have done extremely well so far in the campaign. The club now face a run of four away games in the next five matches and it could be one of the biggest tests of the campaign with games against Barcelona and Arsenal coming up.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News

Erik Lamela (thigh), Victor Wanyama (knee), Moussa Dembele (ankle), Vincent Janssen (foot), and Davinson Sanchez (hamstring) are unavailable for Spurs.
