Leicester City Preview

Claude Puel will still be wondering how his team failed to take at least a point from Goodison Park on Wednesday night after a strong second-half performance. Theo Walcott scored the opening goal from close range after 25 minutes, as Gylfi Sigurdsson caught Ben Chilwell napping before teeing up the former Arsenal man. Walcott then reacted quickest in the box to tap in Michael Keane’s looping header, and although Jamie Vardy pulled one back from the penalty spot, as well as the Foxes then hitting the woodwork three times, Everton narrowly held on to the three points. Kelechi Iheanacho hit the crossbar and post within the space of seconds and it seemed to show that this simply would not be Leicester’s evening. Despite handing in a transfer request, Riyad Mahrez will remain a Leicester player until at least the end of the season after his club resisted interest and £60m from Manchester City for the Algerian winger. It remains to be seen whether or not he will now be involved at the weekend after angling for a move - not for the first time during his spell at the King Power Stadium, either. Both Adrien Silva and Fousseni Diabate arrived during the January transfer window, while Islam Slimani and Leonardo Ulloa were both allowed to leave on loan.

Leicester City Team News

Wes Morgan (hamstring) is missing for Leicester.

Swansea City Preview

Carlos Carvalhal now has Swansea fans believing they really could survive in the Premier League once again this season, after guiding his team to huge back-to-back wins, most recently coming in the shape of a 3-1 victory over Arsenal. Mesut Ozil’s superb pass found Nacho Monreal to put Arsenal in front, but the lead lasted just a minute as Sam Clucas pulled Swansea level. Petr Cech’s woeful error then allowed Jordan Ayew to put Swansea ahead from close range, before Clucas made the game safe five minutes from time. Having also beat Liverpool 1-0 at the Liberty Stadium eight days prior, this win managed to temporarily lift Swansea out of the relegation zone, making it more than realistic that they will be able to finish outside of the bottom three if they can maintain this current form. It seems Carvalhal has aimed to go back to basics somewhat in recent weeks, making sure that his team is defensively sound and attempt to take their chances on the break. Their cause has also been helped by some impressive moves on deadline day, with Andre Ayew and Andy King joining.

Swansea City Team News

Andre Ayew and Renato Sanches are both doubts with hamstring problems.
