Leicester City vs Newcastle United Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Leicester City enjoyed a late flurry of goals that help them register a 2-0 win over Brighton at the AMEX stadium. Iborra came up with the opening goal with only seven minutes left on the clock, but Brighton appeared to get assistance when Wilfred Ndidi was sent off in the 87th minute. Jamie Vardy added a late second to confirm the three points for Claude Puel and his men. Newcastle were able to pick up a third consecutive home win after beating Huddersfield 1-0 at St James’ Park. Ayoze Perez was the hero of the day for Newcastle after coming up with an 80th minute goal to pick up all three points for Rafa Benitez and his team.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

The away performances of Newcastle have not been great, while Leicester City have been quite brilliant over the last few weeks. Leicester are unbeaten at home in the last six league outings. Even though they have predominantly resulted in draws, the lack of goals from Newcastle can propel Leicester towards a victory. I would back a win for Leicester and it is available at a fairly attractive price.

Despite managing to go six matches without a defeat at the King Power Stadium, Leicester have not been able to shut out the opposition won enough occasions. Meanwhile, Newcastle’s lack of threat up front is quite apparent with the team only registering seven goals in the last five games. Newcastle have failed to score in the last four visits to the King Power stadium. A risky but attractive pick happens to be a clean sheet for Leicester City.

Leicester City Preview

Leicester City continue to hit new heights that keep them in the vicinity of the top seven places. Claude Puel’s men can still dispossess Burnley from the seventh place and qualify for the Europa League. The exit from the FA Cup leaves Leicester City with only the league to focus upon. The team are about to enter into a stretch of five matches without defeat. Such a run places the Foxes only a couple of points behind Burnley. Jamie Vardy is now up to 15 league goals for the campaign after coming up with the second goal against Brighton.

Leicester City Team News

Matthew James (Achilles tendon) and Daniel Amartey (hamstring) are the players unavailable for Leicester City. Wilfred Ndidi is the player unavailable due to suspension.

Newcastle United Preview

Newcastle have temporarily eased fears about relegation after managing three consecutive home wins. Rafa Benitez now is likely to place an enormous amount of attention on the remaining home games, as Newcastle have been quite strong here. The reaction to the run of five consecutive defeats at St James’ Park – in November and December – has been excellent and Newcastle are now seven matches unbeaten at home. The away form has been quite the opposite with five winless games. The win over relegation threatened to Stoke City on New Year’s Day is the last away success for Newcastle.

Newcastle United Team News

Robert Elliott (back), Joselu (ankle), and Mohamed Diame (knock) are the players missing from action for Newcastle.
