Leicester City vs Manchester United Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Manchester United are still hoping to close the gap at the top of the Premier League table when they travel to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester on Saturday night. Leicester suffered a humiliating 0-3 home loss at the hands of Crystal Palace last time out in the Premier League, in a game in which they delivered just two shots on target. Meanwhile, Manchester United picked up another narrow victory as they beat West Brom 1-2 away from home, thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news, match stats and odds all in our SBAT preview. Feel free to visit our Bet of the day page to check our best daily tips.

Betting Predictions and Tips

We fancy both teams to score here, as United haven’t been such an impressive team away from home this season and have conceded at least one goal in each of their last six trips. Meanwhile, Leicester have scored at least one goal in eight of their last ten home games across all competitions.

Leicester City Preview

After an impressive run of form which has seen them win four and draw once in five consecutive Premier League fixtures, Leicester now come into this tie on the back of two successive defeats across all competitions. They were thrashed 0-3 at home by Crystal Palace in the Premier League last weekend and followed this up with a penalty-shootout defeat at the hands of Manchester City in their Carabao Cup midweek tie. They still sit 8th in the Premier League table with 26 points under their belts after 18 rounds, just seven points of the top five. Keeping the ball out of their own net has been their biggest problem throughout the season, as they hold one of the worst defensive records in the division with 26 goals conceded in 18 games. At the other end of the field, they managed to score 27 goals, including 7 from their top scorer Jamie Vardy. Riyad Mahrez has also been in decent shape throughout the season, helping the team with five goals and five assists in his 18 league appearances. The bad news is that Leicester have lost three of their last five home games across all competitions. In addition, the Foxes have lost three of their last four home meetings with Manchester United in the Premier League.

Leicester City Team News

Onyinye Wilfred Ndidi is out through suspension, but Robert Huth and Matthew James are both back in training.

Manchester United Preview

Manchester United have lost their Manchester derby against City a fortnight ago, but bounced back with two consecutive Premier League wins against Bournemouth and West Brom. However, Jose Mourinho’s men suffered a shocking defeat in the Carabao Cup in midweek as they were beaten 2-1 by Bristol City, with the hosts scoring a stoppage-time winner. The Red Devils currently sit second in the Premier League table with 41 points under their belts after 18 rounds, already eleven points behind current leaders and city rivals Manchester City. Mourinho’s men looked very well-organized at the back throughout the season, as they hold the joint best defensive record in the division with just 12 goals conceded in 18 league fixtures. They also did well to score 39 goals in this term, including 10 from their top scorer Romelu Lukaku. The interesting fact is that Manchester United haven’t been at their best on the road throughout this 2017/18 competitive season, registering five wins, four defeats and one draw in their last ten away games across all competitions.

Manchester United Team News

Eric Bailly and Marouane Fellaini are both missing through injury, while Ro-Shaun Williams and Luis Antonio Valencia are both doubts.
