Leicester City Preview

Three points may have been the target but Leicester were forced to settle for a point last weekend after drawing 1-1 away to Huddersfield Town last time out. After a goalless first half, it took less than a minute for Huddersfield to break the deadlock in the second, as Laurent Depoitre turned Harry Maguire before firing in his first goal for the Terriers. It took just four minutes for Leicester to respond though, with Jamie Vardy netting from the penalty spot after Andy King was fouled in the penalty area. Craig Shakespeare’s side currently sit 15th in the Premier League after five matches, with this fixture bringing to an end the nightmarish opening six fixtures, with perhaps the games to come being viewed as more winnable by those outside of the football club. The Foxes have taken three points from a possible six at home so far this term, having lost 2-1 against Chelsea in their previous home league outing. They will of course now be looking to make it two wins in the space of five days over Liverpool on Saturday, after goals from Shinji Okazaki and Islam Slimani sealed a 2-0 victory over the Reds in the Carabao Cup.

Leicester City Team News

Christian Fuchs (eye) and Robert Huth (ankle) are both pushing to return here. Elsewhere, Matty James (achilles) and Leonardo Ulloa (head) are both doubtful.

Liverpool Preview

A disappointing week at Liverpool was compounded last weekend by more dropped points, as Burnley came to Anfield and battled hard for a 1-1 draw in the Premier League. It was a tough pill to swallow for Jurgen Klopp, who saw his side dominate the Clarets but struggle to find a decisive way through and were forced to come from behind when Scott Arfield put Burnley into a shock lead. Liverpool did answer back quickly, though, with it taking just three minutes for Mohamed Salah to drill in their equaliser in front of the Kop. Salah felt he should've been awarded a penalty in the second half when he was brought down in the area, while both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dominic Solanke going close but failed to find a way past Nick Pope in goal. Having then been knocked out of the League Cup away to Leicester on Wednesday evening, there will be pressure on Klopp’s men here to return to winning ways, having failed to win in each of their last four games in all competitions. Admittedly, Klopp rested players on Wednesday evening and they are expected to return to a more familiar lineup this weekend, but they will be well aware that another defeat could see them already fall eight points short of both Manchester clubs after just six league games.

Liverpool Team News

Sadio Mane serves the final game of his suspension here. Nathaniel Clyne (back) and Adam Lallana (thigh) are both ruled out, while Dejan Lovren (back) is a doubt.
