Leicester City Preview

Southampton fans were left wondering what had hit them on Wednesday night after Claude Puel’s Leicester side dismantled the Saints with a 4-1 victory at St. Mary’s Stadium. Riyad Mahrez opened the scoring for Leicester after 11 minutes, while Shinji Okazaki and Andy King both netted before half-time to leave the Foxes 3-0 up at the break. Maya Yoshida headed home a response for Southampton in the 61st minute, but Japanese compatriot Okazaki scored Leicester’s fourth 20 minutes from time to seal a convincing win for the away side. Now winning four games on the bounce, Puel has got this team looking like something not too dissimilar from what Claudio Ranieri had, with the side full of confidence and scoring goals freely away from home. Their weekend-midweek double header away to Newcastle and Southampton saw Leicester score four goals, while they are unbeaten in seven games on the road in the Premier League. Also winning three of their last four at the King Power Stadium - with Manchester City being the only side to beat them during that spell - Leicester are one of the form teams in the Premier League so far. Losing just one of their last 12 games in all competitions, they will be expecting to collect another three points this weekend.

Leicester City Team News

Matt James (achilles) is set to miss out once again for Leicester.

Crystal Palace Preview

The newly-found confidence, belief and character of this Crystal Palace team were all on display at Selhurst Park on Tuesday night as they came from behind to defeat Watford 2-1 with a pair of goals in the last five minutes. Daryl Janmaat’s 3rd-minute effort gave the home team the worst possible start to the game and it was only down to some excellent goalkeeping from Julian Speroni that they didn’t find themselves out of the game. However, Tom Cleverley’s 87th minute red card appeared to give the team some impetus and they were level through Bakary Sako before James McArthur scored a dramatic winner in the 92nd minute to lift the team out of the bottom three for the first time this season. The fact it was two substitutes which struck for Palace will have given Roy Hodgson extra pleasure, as he looks to silence what were casting doubts over his suitability for the role when he took over. Palace are currently unbeaten in six games, with two wins and four draws, losing just once in eight in total, with that defeat in itself harsh as they lost 1-0 away to Tottenham. Keeping clean sheets in each of their last two away games, the challenge will now be to finally end their wait for an away Premier League goal after going eight games without one.

Crystal Palace Team News

Mamadou Sakho (calf) and Connor Wickham (cruciate ligament) are both missing here, while Joel Ward (groin) and Chung-Yong Lee (hamstring) are doubtful.
