Leganes vs Las Palmas Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Leganes lost for the fourth consecutive matchday, as Real Madrid picked up a 3-1 win in the midweek action. Even though Leganes opened the scoring after just six minutes through Bustinza, the hosts were unable to hold Madrid for much longer. Lucas Vazquez and Casemiro scored before the 30th minute to put Madrid ahead, while a late penalty from Ramos confirmed the victory for the away team. Las Palmas were at the end of a narrow 2-1 defeat against Sevilla during the weekend. Wissam Ben Yedder and Pablo Sarabia provided Sevilla with a 2-0 lead by the 50th minute. Jonathan Calleri’s penalty provided a glimmer of hope, but an equaliser did not come for the hosts.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Even after four consecutive losses, Leganes will be hopeful about stopping the rot and they have the perfect match on their hands – against struggling Las Palmas. After back-to-back wins over this opponent, Leganes will be confident about a victory in this fixture. Las Palmas have taken just a point in the last five away matches. I would back a win for Leganes. The Las Palmas outfit may be the worst defensive unit in the La Liga 2017-18 campaign by a significant margin, but Leganes may not be well equipped to capitalise on this statistic. After averaging less than a goal so far this season, Leganes have been devoid of quality up front. I would back under 2.5 goals in this match.

Leganes Preview

Leganes have been going through a terrible patch of form in recent weeks. Asier Garitano is hopeful that the club will be able to pick up the first win in seven matches when they step onto the field against Las Palmas. The last victory for Leganes was at the Municipal de Butarque. After having been one of the top 10 teams not too long ago, Leganes find themselves in the 13th spot coming into this match. The club remain as one of the lowest scoring teams in the division, after just 21 goals – three better than Las Palmas. Gabriel Pires has contributed five of those goals to take position as the top scorer.

Leganes Team News

Asier Garitano will have to do without goalkeeper Serantes (shoulder), while Darko Brasanac is rated as doubtful due to a shoulder injury.

Las Palmas Preview

The defeats against Sevilla and Atletico Madrid would not have taken the wind out of Las Palmas, who have managed some impressive results of late. This has significantly boosted their hopes of avoiding relegation, as the team are now just two points behind Levante in the 17th place. The Las Palmas outfit are the second-worst scoring team in the division with only 18 goals so far. However, this disappointing record looks pale alongside a defensive record that stands at 52 goals conceded in 24 games. Jonathan Calleri is the top scorer at Las Palmas with six league goals.

Las Palmas Team News

Pedro Bigas (knee), Gabriel Penalba (knee), and Emmanuel Emenike (knee) are the players unavailable for manager Paco Jemez.
