Leganes vs Granada Match Prediction

By Gary Gillles

Leganes slipped to a disappointing 1-0 loss against Valencia. Asier Garitano watched his team have no shots on target in the entire 90 minutes, as a solitary goal from defender Eliaquim Mangala was enough to secure a win for the home team. Alberto was sent off with 10 minutes of normal time remaining. Granada secured a third consecutive home win to move level on points with 17th placed Deportivo La Coruna. The 2-1 win over Deportivo Alaves saw Mubarak Wakaso provide the home team with an advantage in the 38th minute. Even though Víctor Camarasa cancelled out Isaac Cuenca’ second-half goal, Granada held on for a win in a game which saw 10 yellow cards. Deportivo Alaves had two players sent off in injury time.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Leganes will be hoping to take advantage of Granada’s disastrous away form. Even though Leganes have scored only five goals (four of them in one game) in the last six games, they have kept three clean sheets in this period. I would back Leganes to keep a clean sheet against Granada.

Leganes have been performing well in the last three games and almost came close to snatching a point against Barcelona. Considering they are up against a Granada team that has conceded 17 goals in the last five away matches, I would back Leganes to get a win.

Leganes to keep a clean sheet – 1/1

Leganes win – 8/11

Leganes Preview

Leganes capitalised on Deportivo La Coruna’s horrendous away form. Asier Garitano will know that Leganes have to pick up as many points at the Butarque, as they are primarily up against top teams in the remainder of the season. Leganes may have taken more points on the road (11) than at home (10), but their defensive record at home is better. Recent form also has seen Leganes suffered only two defeats at home in the last five games compared to four away losses in a similar period. Crucially, Leganes failed to score in four out of the five home matches before the 4-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna.

Granada Preview

Granada have perfectly understood that form at Nuevo Los Carmenes will be crucial to their survival. Three consecutive wins and a draw in the last four home matches has seen the team on the verge of escaping the drop zone. Yet, their away record continues to be astronomically poor. Granada have conceded a whopping 40 goals on the road in the 13 games. Even in the last five away matches, they have conceded 17 and scored just two in return. The absence of top scorer Artem Kravets, who has five league goals, could be crucial.
