Leeds United vs Queens Park Rangers Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Saturday afternoon (15:00) fixture features the side in second up against a side in mid-table. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Leeds kept the pressure on Norwich with their third successive victory which is an impressive 1-0 road win at Sheffield United. Pablo Hernandez got the only goal of the game to give them three points though it was the Blades who shaded the match.

QPR saw their winless run stretch to three with a 3-2 home loss to Hull last time out despite a goal each for Pawel Wszolek and Luke Freeman. The result was harsh on the London side with the expected goals data having this as an even draw.

Leeds won both meetings between these sides last season including a 2-0 success at their own ground. Kemar Roofe has a good record against the Rs having netted four in those two fixtures.

Betting Tips and Predictions

It is hard to argue with Leeds being favourites here given they have won five of their last seven while QPR have won just one of their last five. I could not be backing them at such small odds and would advise enhancing the odds. Given three of their last four at home have been won to nil this looks a play.

Under 2.5 goals is the outsider here and given that the last five at Elland Road have done this while this true of three of the last five on the road for the Rs this looks the bet.

Leeds United Preview

The Whites have now won three straight and five of the last seven as they sit in second place in the table. Bookmakers think that the Yorkshire outfit are the side most likely to go on and win the title making them favourites.

At Elland Road, they have won their last two and three of their last four going unbeaten in five. None of their next three at their own place are against a side currently amongst the top eight.

Kemar Roofe is the leading goal getter for Leeds this season with eight goals netted four of which have come in the last seven. Pablo Hernandez has seven for the campaign with four in the previous five.

Leeds United Team News

Liam Cooper (unknown) is a doubt while Gaetano Berardi (muscle), Luke Ayling, Izzy Brown (both knee), Conor Shaughnessy (also muscle) and Patrick Bamford (also knee) are long-term absentees.

Queens Park Rangers Preview

The Rs are three without a win and have won just one of their last five and after a strong run are starting to slow a little. They sit 11th in the table with bookmakers having them as 11th favourites for the title.

Away from Loftus Road, it has been a mixed bag of late with two victories, two draws and two defeats. Each of their next four on the road are tricky looking fixtures and are against sides in the top eight.

Luke Freeman is their leading scorer this season with four goals and two in the previous two matches. Eberechi Eze, Nahki Wells and Tomer Hemed have all weighed in with three goals each.

Queens Park Rangers Team News

Olamide Shodipo (thigh) is their only injury concern ahead of this fixture.
