Leeds United vs Burton Albion Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Saturday afternoon (15:00) game from Elland Road features two sides who have made differing starts to the Championship season. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats. Leeds put in a strong performance to go the City Ground and defeat Nottingham Forest 2-0 before the international break. They had a goal each from Kemar Roofe and Ezdzhan Alioski to thank for the three points. Burton picked up a useful point last time out as they came from behind to draw their home game with Sheffield Wednesday. The Brewers had Joe Mason to thank for that point after his 65th minute equalizer. The home side won both meetings the pair last season with Burton winning 2-1 at the Pirelli Stadium while Leeds won 2-0 at Elland Road. All five of the goals netted came late in the fixtures occurring after the 74th minute.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Leeds to win this one looks good but the price is too short to take alone so look to try and enhance it. The Yorkshire side have seen each of their last four go under 2.5 so take them to win and the game to have under 2.5 goals. Another way to play this is a small interest on the 2-0 correct result in the score market as each of the last two Leeds have played have ended this way.

Leeds to win and under 2.5 goals

Leeds to win the game 2-0

Leeds United saw over 1.5 goals in 9 out of their last 10 games played

Burton Albion saw over 1.5 goals in 10 out of their last 10 games played

Leeds United Preview

Three wins, two draws and no defeats from their first five games is a strong start and one that has seen Leeds move into third going into the international break. None of their next four are against teams expected to go well this season so might represent an opportunity to get some points on the board. A feature of their matches has been clean sheets and after shipping two to Bolton on the opening day they have now kept four clean-sheets in a row. At the other end, they have netted seven times with these goals been spread around the team with Kalvin Phillips the only player to have netted more than one league goal. Ahead of the transfer window, Leeds moved to strengthen their forward slots following the sale of Chris Wood to Burnley. Pawel Cibicki joined on a permanent deal from Malmö while the loan signing of Pierre-Michel Lasogga from Hamburg looks a good one.

Leeds United Team News

They have no registered injuries or suspensions

Burton Albion Preview

After three defeats from their first three it looked like being a tough season for the Brewers but they have found new hope after four points from their next two. They do though have a difficult run coming up with five of their next six against sides expected to go well. A lack of goals has been an issue for them this campaign with just four netted in the league with no player scoring more than one goal. At the other end, they have shipped nine but four of these did come in one game so the record is not as bad as it appears. Ahead of the transfer window closing, the Brewers added three players with striker Will Miller joining from Tottenham, defender John Brayford and midfielder Jamie Allen also coming in to the squad though they lost key player Jackson Irvine.

Burton Albion Team News

Hope Akpan is still suspended while Matty Lund (ankle) and Liam Boyce (cruciate) are ruled out.
