Lazio vs Vitesse Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

The already-qualified Lazio welcome the bottom-placed Vitesse at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday afternoon for the penultimate round of the Europa League group K. Lazio won 1-0 at home against Nice thanks to a stoppage-time own goal from Maxime Le Marchand. Meanwhile, Vitesse suffered a disappointing 0-2 home loss against Waregem, despite the fact they had an overwhelming 69% ball possession and five shots on goal. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news, match stats and odds all in our SBAT preview. Feel free to visit our Bet of the day page to check our best daily tips.

Betting Predictions and Tips

Lazio should be able to grab another easy win here despite the fact they are already qualified. It seems that Vitesse doesn’t care about the Europa League and their recent away form in the competition have been terrible. I also expect Lazio to keep a clean sheet as they have only conceded once in their last four home games across all competitions.

Lazio Preview

Lazio have enjoyed an impeccable Europa League group stage campaign so far, winning all four games and scoring nine goals in the process. This leaves them at the top of the group K table with maximum points after four rounds and they are already qualified for the round of 32. They hold an impressive record in this competition as they are undefeated in 26 Europa League group fixtures. The Biancocelesti were on a nine-game winning streak across all competitions prior to their 2-1 defeat at Roma in the Rome derby last weekend in the Serie A. At home, Lazio have only lost once in their last eight games across all competitions and are currently on a four-game winning streak. In addition, the Italians have won seven of their last eight European home games, including back-to-back wins over Waregem and Nice this season. Furthermore, their last five meetings with Dutch opponents have seen them win two, lose two and draw one. Felipe Caicedo, Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic have been Lazio’s most dangerous players throughout this Europa League campaign, as they bagged six goals and four assists between them.

Lazio Team News

Wallace, Davide Di Gennaro and Federico Marchetti are all doubts, but Felipe Anderson and Felipe Caidedo are both missing through injury.

Vitesse Preview

Vitesse are the only team in group K without a victory to their name after four rounds. They have dominated their most recent home game against Waregem in terms of both possession and goalscoring attempts, but they eventually lost it 0-2. Vitesse’s recent run of form has been terrible as they have lost three and draw once in their last four games across all competitions. Despite the recent form, the Arnheim side still sit in a comfortable 6th position in the Eredivisie table, just six points behind the second-placed Ajax. They still have mathematical chances to qualify for the next round of the competition, but they need to win the remaining two games and the other results go in their favour. The worrying fact is that Vitesse haven’t won any of their last ten European games and are winless in four away UEFA fixtures. Their recent away form across all competitions has seen them win just once in their last four games. Furthermore, Vitesse’s record against Italian sides isn’t good as they have only won once in five meetings.

Vitesse Team News

Arnold Kruiswijk and Maikel van der Werff are both doubts ahead of this game.
