Las Palmas vs Barcelona Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Las Palmas picked up another point from their travels, as the team managed a goalless draw at Leganes during the weekend. Both teams were starved of opportunities in the game, but it represents another clean sheet for Paco Jemez and his men. Barcelona thrashed local rivals Girona 6-1 at the Camp Nou. Portu provided the away team with a shock lead by scoring in the third minute. However, normality was restored as Barcelona overpowered their less illustrious opponents with a hat-trick from Luis Suarez. Lionel Messi scored a brace while Philippe Coutinho was also on the scoresheet.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Barcelona have been able to score 12 goals in the last three league matches with Las Palmas while conceding just one in return. Las Palmas have struggled with goals throughout the campaign and they have only scored twice in the last five games. Ernesto Valverde’s outfit have managed a decent three clean sheets in the last five away matches. I see an amazing value on offer while backing a clean sheet for Barcelona. Luis Suarez may continue to trail Lionel Messi in the La Liga 2017-18 scoring charts, but the Uruguayan’s form has been better than his Argentine counterpart in recent months. Suarez has come up with the opening goal for Barcelona in three out of the last five La Liga matches. While his record against Las Palmas may not be the greatest, I would back Suarez to score the first goal.

Las Palmas Preview

The relegation fears for Las Palmas still continue to grip the club, but manager Jemez has kept the points table ticking in recent weeks. This happens to be extremely important at this moment, as Las Palmas need to stay in touch with teams occupying the safety positions. Las Palmas cannot afford a situation like Malaga, who are bottom and seven points behind safety. However, the likelihood of a sixth league win of the campaign for Las Palmas looks unlikely with the club struggling to score goals. In the last six matches, Las Palmas have only come up with four goals. Jonathan Calleri is the club’s top scorer with six league goals.

Las Palmas Team News

Pedro Bigas (knee), Gabriel Penalba (knee), and Emmanuel Emenike (knee) are missing due to injuries for Las Palmas manager Paco Jemez.

Barcelona Preview

Barcelona have had a much needed return to excellent scoring form, as the Catalan outfit have been criticised for barely managing to get through games. After managing to get a comprehensive victory during the weekend, Ernesto Valverde will be keen on his team maintaining the scoring momentum going into the key clash with Atletico Madrid during the weekend. Barcelona will be able to go one-step closer towards the league title with a victory over Diego Simeone’s team, as they already have a huge seven-point advantage in the table. Lionel Messi is now up to 22 goals for the campaign, but Luis Suarez is not far behind with 20 goals.

Barcelona Team News

Jordi Alba is the player who misses out due to suspension, while Sergei Samper (ankle), Nelson Cabral Semedo (hamstring), and José Manuel Arnaiz (groin) are missing due to injuries.
