LA Galaxy vs Minnesota United Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

LA Galaxy’s poor form continued with the team only getting a 1-1 draw with Real Salt Lake in the latest league outing. Bradford Jamieson appeared to have given LA Galaxy with a first win in six league matches, as Galaxy profited from RSL playing with 10 men due to Marcelo Silva’s red card. However, Kyle Beckerman came in with a late equaliser in the fifth minute of injury time to deny Galaxy three points. Minnesota United picked up a 1-1 draw with Sporting Kansas City to extend their good run of form. Diego Rubio’s early goal in the first-half injury time was cancelled out by Brent Kallman towards the end of the game.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Galaxy are winless in the last six league matches and the possibility of getting anything out of the game has diminished quite rapidly with Gyasi Zardes’ injury. Zardes has been one of the few bright elements in the recent weeks, although he has scored just two goals this season. Minnesota United have picked up three wins in the last five of the matches and will be coming into the game with a lot of confidence. At this point in time, anybody appears capable of beating LA Galaxy. I would go with a surprise victory for Minnesota United.

LA Galaxy have conceded a whopping 15 goals in the last six matches and 10 goals when it comes to home matches alone. Minnesota United have been able to score 10 goals in their last six away matches. I would back Minnesota to score over 1.5 goals.

LA Galaxy Preview

One of the most successful MLS teams, LA Galaxy, have been struggling for form throughout the campaign and maybe set to finish bottom of the Western Conference if a miracle does not take place in the last two matches. The club slipped behind Colorado Rapids in the last few weeks. Even though Colorado are level on points with Galaxy, Sigi Schmid’s team need to come up with back-to-back wins and hope that their rivals drop points in order to avoid the embarrassment of finishing bottom of the table.

LA Galaxy Team News

Sebastian Lletget (foot), Pele van Anholt (cruciate ligament), Gyasi Zardes (groin), Baggio Husidic (leg), Bradley Diallo (hamstring), Robbie Rogers (ankle), and Daniel Steres (back) are the players unavailable for LA Galaxy.

Minnesota United Preview

Minnesota United have been on a good run of form over the last few weeks and this has helped with the club make-up significant ground in the Western Conference table. Even though the club will not be qualifying for the play-offs, manager Adrian Heath will regard this as a successful campaign if Minnesota are able to finish with a flourish. The club are six points behind Real Salt Lake and San Jose Earthquakes going into the last two matches. However, both these games are on the road. In recent times, Minnesota’s away form has improved tremendously with three wins in five.

Minnesota United Team News

Thomas de Villardi (Achilles tendon), Brent Kallman (hip), Bernardo Anor (leg), Sam Cronin (concussion), Justin Davis (foot), and Vadim Demidov (knee) are the players unavailable for Minnesota United.
