Kilmarnock vs Inverness CT Match Prediction

By Gary Gillles

Kilmarnock’s three-game unbeaten run at Rugby Park ended with a narrow 1-0 loss against Dundee. While both teams had excellent claims for a penalty, it was Dundee who managed to come out in front after a 55th minute goal from Marcus Haber. Inverness managed to provide a major boost to their survival hopes after securing a 2-1 win over Hamilton. Brad McKay took advantage of poor marking to open the scoring in the 10th minute from a set piece. Greg Tansey converted a penalty in the 36th minute to put Inverness in a comfortable position, while Daniel Redmond could only grab a late consolation for Hamilton.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Kilmarnock are still not completely safe, despite the six point advantage over Motherwell with three games left. Home games represent a great way for Kilmarnock to at least sustain this advantage, as it should be enough to ensure their safety. Inverness are in great need of three points, and the confidence from the win over Hamilton will be huge. Yet, the club are without an away win in the last 12 attempts. The closest Inverness have come towards an away win in this period is through three draws. I would back a draw, as both teams are hungry for points.

The last four home games for Kilmarnock has produced under 2.5 goals. The club’s scoring form continues to be extremely poor. Inverness average just over a goal per game this season. Hence, I would expect this game to produce less than 2.5 goals.

Kilmarnock Preview

Kilmarnock’s poor form in front of goal sees the club having scored just one goal better than Hamilton, who have scored just 31 league goals this season. Recent form, though, places Kilmarnock in an extremely poor position with the team managing just one win in the last seven league matches. Lack of goals has been a major issue for the team, and they have now failed to score in the last three home games. Kris Boyd is club’s top scorer with eight league goals, but the 33-year-old has not scored in his last four appearances for the club.

Kilmarnock Team News

Scott Boyd is the only player on the sidelines for Kilmarnock.

Inverness CT Preview

Inverness were finally able to end a run of eight winless games with a much-needed win over Hamilton. The victory lifts the club to within four points of Motherwell and Hamilton. Even though two of the last three matches for Inverness eyes away from home, the club’s belief has been rekindled with this victory. Coming into the game, Inverness had failed to score in three of the previous four matches. Yet, they scored at just the right stages to secure a comfortable win. Greg Tansey is now the top scorer with six league goals.

Inverness CT Team News

Aaron Doran (surgery) and Owain Fon Williams (knee) are unavailable for Inverness.
