Kilmarnock vs Hamilton Academical Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Kilmarnock fell to a 2-0 defeat against Celtic in the latest league match. Opposition manager Brendan Rodgers decided to field a team of youngsters, but even they were able to overpower Kilmarnock with goals from James Forrest and Callum McGregor. Hamilton produced a fine attacking display to secure a 3-1 win against highflying Hibernian. Rakesh Bingham opened the scoring in the second half from the penalty spot, while Louis Longridge took advantage of the opposition’s mistake to score the second goal in the 69th minute. Late goals from Bingham and Anthony Stokes made this as a high-scoring affair. Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Kilmarnock have a disappointing home record against Hamilton after having lost four out of the recent five matches at the Rugby Park. The upcoming match also bodes well for Hamilton, who come after having achieved back-to-back wins in the league. Kilmarnock have lost four consecutive games in all competitions, while they have also failed to score in the last three. Hamilton have only failed to score once in the last five games at Rugby Park. I see plenty of value in backing a win for Hamilton. Hamilton created several opportunities in the last two games they have managed to take their tally for the season to six goals. Kilmarnock scored in the opening game against St Johnstone and have failed to find the back of the net in the last two. There is a reasonable value in backing Kilmarnock to score under 1.5 goals.

Kilmarnock Preview

Kilmarnock have made a very poor start to the Scottish Premier League 2017-18 campaign after losing the opening three matches. More importantly, the club has failed to score in the last three games – although manager Lee McCulloch will also be aware that his team has faced Celtic in two of these three matches. Last season, Kilmarnock were able to finish in a reasonable seventh place, but it appears that the club are already facing a major fight in order to repeat the feats of last season. Kilmarnock have scored just once in the campaign this season. Last season’s top scorer Kris Boyd came up with the only goal for Kilmarnock this season.

Kilmarnock Team News

Kilmarnock will be without Greg Kiltie (knee), Scott Boyd (knee), and Gary Dicker (knee) for this game.

Hamilton Academical Preview

The back-to-back losses against Aberdeen – in the Premier League and the League Cup – at the start of the season raised concerns about Hamilton’s campaign. The club had finished just one place above the bottom of the table in the 2016-17 campaign, and were able to avoid relegation only through the play-offs. However, back-to-back wins in the league have lifted Hamilton to 4th place in this early Scottish Premier League 2017-18 table. Manager Martin Canning will be especially happy with the team managing six goals in the last two league games. Rakesh Bingham is the top scorer for the club with two goals this season.

Hamilton Academical Team News

Hamilton do not have injury worries coming into the game.
