Kilmarnock vs Dundee FC Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Kilmarnock came in with a battling performance to get a 1-1 draw with Aberdeen at the Pittodrie Stadium. The home team took the lead through Stevie May after just 10 minutes. However, Kilmarnock came back strongly into the game and were able to equalise in the 48th minute through Jordan Jones. Dundee secured the first victory of the season after beating St Johnstone 3-2 at the Dens Park. This highly entertaining game saw Dundee get a 2-0 lead through Leitch-Smith. Liam Craig’s penalty pulled one back for St Johnstone, but Dundee re-established their two-goal advantage with Sofien Moussa’s 78th minute penalty. St Johnstone refused to die down after reducing the deficit through another penalty from Craig in the 84th minute. Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

The meeting between Kilmarnock and Dundee has been a tightly fought contest in recent years, as both teams have managed just one win in the last six games. Surprisingly, Kilmarnock have not been able to get a good record against Dundee at the Rugby Park. Kilmarnock have managed just one home win over this opponent. Yet, the string of draws in recent times is a reason for me to go with this game ending up as a stalemate.

The recent matches between these two clubs have been tight contests with a low number of goals. Despite being winless, Kilmarnock have seen more than 2.5 goals only once in the last five league matches. It is a different story for matches involving Dundee, but I believe that the home team will dictate the pace of the game. I would go with this game to produce under 2.5 goals.

Kilmarnock Preview

Kilmarnock may have come in with a battling performance against Aberdeen, but the results so far this season has left Lee McCulloch in a difficult position. After being appointed as the permanent manager only in the summer, the 39-year-old has seen Kilmarnock manage only two points from the first six games of the season. Yet, recent performances from the club will provide a lot of confidence and home game may be the best opportunity for the club to get the first win of the season. Kilmarnock have conceded 10 goals while scoring just four. As a result, Kilmarnock are the lowest scorers in the division.

Kilmarnock Team News

Gary Dicker (abdominal muscle) and Greg Kiltie (knee) are the players unavailable for Kilmarnock.

Dundee FC Preview

After having suffered some heavy defeats in the first few games of the SPL 2017-18 season, Dundee will be relieved to get the first win out of the way. Yet, the defensive performance against St Johnstone once again left a lot to be desired. Dundee have to improve a lot defensively if the club are to move towards the top six of the table. Dundee have conceded the highest number of goals so far this season with 14 conceded in the six games. At the other end of the pitch, their attacking performance has been relatively good with seven goals.

Dundee FC Team News

Neil McCann will be without players like Josh Meekings (knee), Craig Wighton (knee), James McPake (knee), Julen Etxabeguren (Achilles tendon), and Kostadin Gadzhalov (calf) due to injury.
