Kilmarnock vs Dundee FC Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Kilmarnock are preparing for only their third league game of 2018 with a 4-0 win over Brora Rangers in the Scottish FA Cup. Aaron Tshibola broke the deadlock at the Rugby Park with his 42nd minute goal, while second-half goals from Kris Boyd, Eamonn Brophy, and Stephen O’Donnell were able to claim a huge win. Prior to this victory, Kilmarnock beat Celtic 1-0 at home. Dundee suffered a 2-0 loss against Motherwell to exit the FA Cup. Craig Tanner’s first-half goal and Kevin Holt’s own goal were able to send Dundee out of the competition.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Kilmarnock happen to be a strong pick when it comes to home matches. Even Celtic have suffered a defeat at the Rugby Park in recent weeks, and it places Dundee at a significant disadvantage approaching this match. After having lost back-to-back games, Dundee would not have preferred an away game in order to make a comeback. The club has only picked up three away wins this season. I would back a victory for Kilmarnock in this game.

In the last five matches at the Rugby Park, Kilmarnock have conceded only one goal. Even Celtic returned home with an empty hand from the visit to this ground. Dundee may have scored in the last four away matches in all competitions, but I would back a clean sheet for Kilmarnock.

Kilmarnock Preview

Kilmarnock have had several postponements in 2018 and this has significantly reduced the number of matches for Steve Clarke’s men. However, the team now prepare for a decisive February schedule that will see them play four matches in the next two weeks. Kilmarnock will be hoping to continue their brilliant form, which has seen them get some high profile scalps. The wins over the likes of Celtic keeps Kilmarnock in touching distance of the top six places. The club will be able to overtake Motherwell with the victory from one of the three matches in hand. Clarke sees Kris Boyd top the scoring charts at Kilmarnock with 10 goals in 20 games.

Kilmarnock Team News

There are no injuries or suspension worries for Neil McCann.

Dundee FC Preview

Dundee have been unable to pull away from the relegation places, as the club has suffered some crucial defeats when they should have been making use of the home matches for more number of victories. The exit from the FA Cup should help focus on the league. Dundee have games against the likes of Partick Thistle and St Johnstone in the next five matches, and manager Neil McCann will ideally be targeting six points from these games in order to put themselves an advantage over the bottom two. Dundee forward AJ Leitch-Smith is the club’s top scorer with six goals in 19.

Dundee FC Team News

Craig Wighton (cruciate ligament), Josh Meekings (knock), Julen Etxabeguren (Achilles tendon), and Kostadin Gadzhalov (calf) are the players unavailable for Dundee.
