One of Serie A's biggest games of the season kicks off this weekend as reigning champions Juventus welcome Lazio to the Allianz Arena. With both teams separated by just three points, this one could end up being a six-pointer for one of the sides come the end of the season. Juventus were pegged back in their last game, throwing away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Atalanta away from home. There were no mistakes for Lazio as they ran riot at Stadio Olimpico, beating Sassuolo 6-1. Read on for a full match preview complete with all our best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Whenever Juventus are playing at home, it is tough to back against them. They have an outstanding record at the Allianz, seeing just one Serie A defeat in their last 89 matches. In recent years, Lazio have challenged Juventus, but at the Allianz, they have never really come close. In seven of the last eight games between the two at Juventus the home side have won to nil, and in all eight of those games, they have beaten the -1 goal handicap results showing how good Juventus are on home soil. Both sides have strikers in from with Paulo Dybala scoring ten in seven and Immobile scoring nine in seven. However, with the all-round squad Juventus have, they have more than enough quality to be able to go and and put a few past Lazio this weekend. A win for the home side this weekend will take them six points clear of Lazio and even at this stage of the season, many teams will struggle to make the ground back up on Juventus who very rarely drop points.

Juventus Preview

Juventus lost ground on top of the table Napoli last time out after throwing away a two-goal lead to draw with Atalanta away from home. They will be looking to bounce back this weekend and make sure lightning doesn't strike twice. Paulo Dybala has been the sides biggest threat this season with an impressive ten goals in just seven games. The Argentine has been doubted by a lot of stars around the world, but this season he seems to be keeping them quite by getting on the scoresheet more time than not. Juventus' home form is nothing less than extraordinary winning 38 of their last 39 at the Allianz Arena and drawing the other one. In fact, Juventus have lost just once in their last 89 home Serie A games, which is the main reason why they are winning Serie A year after year. Whenever this Juventus team are playing at home, you just can't back anything but a home win.

Juventus Team News

Juventus will be without six players for the visit of Lazio this weekend with Markso Pjaca (ACL), Daniele Rugani (finger injury), Sami Khedira (knee injury), Andrea Barzagli (muscle injury), Benedikt Howedes (thigh injury) and Mattia De Sciglio (ankle injury) all out.

Lazio Preview

Lazio have had a fantastic start to the season, picking up 16 points from just seven games. They currently find themselves in 4th place, three points behind their opponents this weekend. Having come into this game off the back of a 6-1 win over Sassuolo, they will feel they can go to Juventus and trouble them. However, if they are to do so, they will need to be at there best and threaten Juventus like just one team has managed to do in 89 matches. There has been a lot of talk surrounding Paulo Dybala this season, but Lazio have a little star of their own with Italian international scoring nine goals in seven matches. It will be interesting to see how he copes with the defensive stability of Juventus, but so far this season he has been making a nuisance of himself. Travelling away from home hasn't troubled Lazio so far this season, winning three out of three on the road.

Lazio Team News

Lazio also have a handful of player out this weekend with Jordan Lukaku (thigh injury), Thomas Strakosha (groin injury), Bastos (thigh injury), Wallace (calf injury), Federico Marchetti (sprained knee injury), Dusan Basta (thigh injury) and Felipe Anderson (groin injury) all sidelined.
